For those that already have them, how dry do they keep the bed? I've already sealed the bed rails and header gaps for my Bakflip cover, I just would rather get something that I can camp out in the back with. Will have to change the rear cover to a solid fabric one too.

Yep. Rolled up the sides and used mosquito netting. Let me see if I have a picture.

    Nice set-up!

I'm one of the million in CA that lost power on Saturday when PG&E shut it off. Just came back (Monday night here), so big thanks to Tony for picking up on the group buy and posting it. I did make a mistake on my addition, it's actually $49.95 off the normal price - that's whether you have a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gen. Softopper doesn't normally do group buys or discounts so I got excited!

Also, the reason I posted their reply about 2nd & 3rd gens being the same height/top (except the back flap & hardware), was because of the erroneous info elsewhere saying the 3rd gens were cut lower. Sorry, didn't mean to imply that other trucks were excluded from the group buy.

When setting it up, wanted to make it as painless as possible for each purchaser. So make the regular payment method to Softopper, and receive regular shipping from Softopper direct to you. They asked that each purchaser include a note in PayPal or credit card stating participation in the group buy so they can issue the refund.

    Go get im!

No worries! That sucks that you are in the danger zone. Definitely no pun intended.

    Stay safe.

Just a bump for this GB.

Sorry about the rush, but this closes on the 31st.

    You're welcome.

Same. I am a bit paranoid that folks are not seeing it and there will be a bunch of 'dayum, I missed it' after it closes.

Are you interested enough to be added to the list if we can hit 10 in the next two days?

Probably like most other dudes, I wonder if they will have a cyber Monday sale that would be better than the GB. I REALLY want one, but I don’t need it ASAP.

    The dilemma is real.

I was in the same spot as you.

I got a rollup tonneau just for some dry storage until I could make a decision between a soft topper, canopy, or the wedge campers that started popping up. After 2yrs, I am just done dealing with the limited space of the tonneau, I have no space to store a canopy and the prices just don't jive, and the wedge campers are just out of my league. I want the ease of more dry storage and camping in the wet.

I did a search for Softtoppers in this forum when @northshore posted about the GB and not much action:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/search/9196874/?q=softtopper&t=post&o=date&c[node]=55

I've heard from others what @Cav_BluTRD said.

BTW, I purchased mine with PayPal Credit for 6mo free financing.

I agree with the others, once you get it positioned right and plug up those bed rail gaps (and take the time to use the seam sealer on install), it'll stay dry even through a car wash.

    Gratuitous lens flare shot.

It continually amazes me how good Sport wheels look when blacked out. Same for OR wheels.

    Sounds good!

If we hit 10, are you in? If so, it would be good to add your name to the list. There's no commitment if under 10? Hell, there's never a commitment, but it may help others.

It was helluva lot cheaper than buying new wheels, thats for sure.

For those that are on the fence - As a long time owner I have never seen the price go down on a softopper, but I have seen the price go up on occasion. The first softopper I bought (way back in 2006) I paid $500 (plus shipping, plus a $30 boot cover, plus $20 "doggie window." Bummer that option isnt offered anymore). The one I have currently was bought in 2016 for $699 plus shipping plus boot cover. Every few years, that price slowly creeps up to meet inflation. This is the first discount I have seen.

Definitely and being 24lb, they are not heavy for cast wheels.

Great info! I'm looking forward to Mr FedEx on Thursday.
