    I'll get some better pics.

I recommend pulling the rails, protecting the paint, and sealing. I had some wear spots from my tonneau and jumping over the side.

I'll get some better shots in the morning.

A couple installation things. The alignment pic they show for the rails is a 2nd Gen. Sight to the bed itself, not the header rail. Interestingly, the screw-in snaps went in the header rail. I was expecting them to go into the composite bed itself. That was a pleasant surprise.

The Softopper is much nicer than expected and works great on a quick highway run.

You guys are gonna love it.

    Have a good one!

    Looks great!

Park it in the sun tomorrow and any wrinkles from being folded up will go away.

If your going to camp back there these help with closing the tailgate from inside.

And you can make like Buffalo Bill and tuck it...

    Fava beans!

Does tucking work that well? No need for the hook tape?

That loop is a great idea also.

    Thanks again!

I've tucked it since it was new. At first I intended to get some xpel to go across the top of the tailgate for protecting the paint when leaving it un-tucked, but that never happened. I've never used the hook tape on the tailgate.

Surprisingly it stays dry inside, even when tucked.

Yes. I am sealed back there. We'll see what happens. A new strip of hook is no big deal.

Lighting is on my mind. I have a bunch of lights from HF and others. We'll see what comes up.

    Hey, Folks.

No pics today. I had to do stuff with the daughter for school.

I did readjust the tension on the topper. The middle hole on the bracket feels too stiff in the cold since it takes too much effort to snap it. I dropped it to the lowest hole. Just a bit of tension to snap it and no flapping on the highway.

Dropping the top is a freaking breeze.

Thanks tony! Glad I got it. I dont think I’m gonna add the front snaps / Velcro, or in the rear. Are your mounting rails rolled inwards?

@tonered so did you mount the sides to the raw metal bedframe and not the plastic bed cover? Did you not use the clamps for the trac system either?

    thanks!

Sorry for the confusion. I was snapping pics when I could and racing daylight and dropping temps. The rail caps went back on over the caulk. I was just protecting the metal and ensuring a water seal even though I only ever got water in by the front corners. Those are sealed now also.

Just looking for a dry camping setup.

Compared to my tonneau clamps, the Softopper clamps are simpler and way beefier.

My only change from the instructions is using @dilbert 's recommendation to tuck the rear flap instead of using the hook tape on the tailgate.

I meant to take some pics today, but it was a good, long day out with the fam. After some runs on the highway and around town, it is everything that I wanted and more.

I feel like those clamps roll the square tubing.

Interesting. You don't need much more torque than flattening out the lock washer and a bit of compression on the foam. That is plenty for it all to bite on the texture of the rail cap.

I went with 12in from each end of the Softopper rails. That put them in a nice spot and seemed to get a bit of compression in the middle also?

I got too much shit going on With my rails to measure. But I tried to split it in 3rds. I leveled the rails out and tightened the clamps and they're rolled inwards
