Add me to the list for the premium harness.

Just hoping my BAMF grill and the caliraised light bar show up at the same time to save on install

I used a piece of a plastic hangar (can use anything solid as long as its at least a foot or so long) and taped the wires to that and pushed it through.

For the quick question first. Sorry no sale on ditch mounts right now. The GB was for stuff that both Cali and I make, that way it was a win for both of us. The ditch mounts on my website are actually ones Cali has manufactured, I am just a dealer.

    HARNESSES!!!!

Ok so some good news and bad news...

Good news is they got here and I learned a lot this afternoon. These things are well made, full heat shrinked and look great. They have the DT connector to plug directly into your LED and the great switch. I am almost certain the manufacture used Mic Tuning switches. They will swap out with any switch on the Mic Tuning website by simply unplugging the connector at the back of the switch and plugging the new switch in just like that. The switch worked good and and it looks to be a great setup. Basically the easiest way to explain it to anyone is that the difference between the free generic harness and the premium is the switch and associated wiring for said switch.

    Free

    Premium

Now for the bad news. The backlight is always on, like always. I was under the impression they were going to have an illumination wire but they do not, instead the illumination wire is directed from the switch to the constant voltage. It was probably a miscommunication on my part as I assumed, ya you have an illumination wire, but they just were like, ya add the switch... I am semi-educated on wiring and I am trying to work through all of this and how we move forward. I know LEDs use very little power and there are many harnesses out there that are always hot. But what I don't want is these to kill batteries. It would suck to get back from a week long trip and your truck is dead in the airport parking lot.

So as of today, we are not adding the premium harness to the website for you guys to buy. We are working through solutions now. We believe we have a solution but it requires having the harnesses partially rewired to add the illumination wire and an add-a-circuit so that these will be true plug and play as we had originally wanted them to be. This is why we didn't want to take money, no matter how much people wanted to send it our way, haha. New products always have their issues as we work through concept to final install and we are working through these ones. I was confident we had a home run from the gate but that was not the case. I am giving a padded guess of 3 weeks to get these rewired and ready. They are being shipped to a company tomorrow that is close by that will do a full diagnosis, rewire and diagramming for us and we will be getting them back to market as soon as possible. I will provide updates as we have them and if anyone wants to wait, we will be seeing these through until they are perfect!

For the group buy you will all be getting a generic harness free of charged as described in post #1. For those that don't mind messing with a few wires, here is a great write up on how to modify the harness to add the Mic tuning switch: Mic Tuning Switch Wiring. For those that are still interested in the premium harness. I suggest doing the install and when the harnesses are ready then you can do the switch swap out. The switch part of the harness can be changed without redoing the full wiring, so the swap over will be easy. The plan is to keep the same price of the $22 even though we will be incurring some added cost to rewire these. So don't worry, there will be nothing lost here, just some time while we get them sorted out.

Sorry this wasn't the update you guys wanted, I didn't either. But we will work through this and get it going. You still have this great LED and mount combo and a killer price at that. Thanks for the support and please let me know if you have any questions!

A few pics of the harness and a 5D spot because why not, I took them tonight haha...

This pic does no justice, this thing is crazy bright. This is the pure spot too. It went as far as I could find a place to shine it.

And the infamous switch pigtail part of the harness that needs to be rewired.

Light shot looks good! I ordered the Spot/Flood combo and was not sure if I made the right choice, thinking maybe the spot would make more sense. Then I spent the weekend volunteering at an off road rally (http://www.tallpinesrally.com) and found myself driving slow (50kph or less) on fire roads... twisty, turny fire roads and now I know I made the right decision.

Hey @MojaveMadman does this code "blackfridayled" still work on Apexs website to get a 32" Stealth brackets with a 5D bar?

Welcome. Just take a wire hanger, tape your wires to it, push the grommet to the side and slide it through. On my 3rd gen the edge was sort of sharp, so I slid a piece of clastic in to make sure the vibrations didn't chafe the wire.

    Chris,

No worries on the primo harness. I'm standing by for the re-worked model, as I'd rather get it right than get it quick. Nice job and thanks for your dedication to cranking out a quality product.
