I was installing rock lights last night and took a look at my CB. Man that thing is looser than a $2 whore! You can see that it's sitting about a 1/2" low and got probably close to 2" of vertical play out of it by pushing up.

@nfs257 has the McMaster one on a dclb which appears to sit about the same height as this one and op has a dclb too. Ask them if it's a problem.

Thanks I was just going by what nd4spdbh quoted, I am not handy at all and if this is going to require further modding. Takes me out of the game.

Gotcha. Mines a dclb and I'm gonna go for it cuz fuck replacing the stock one every 2 years. Hopefully it's not a big deal but I take it as a good thing that its been done to two trucks already and they don't seem to have issues with it.

@12TRDTacoma how much would you say this drops the driveshaft on a dclb? Best guess

Surprised they don't make one that uses the factory bolt locations though?

Its because this CB is for a Ford ranger which happens to be the same diameter as our driveshafts so I guess the ranger mounting is probably set up a bit differently.

I had that much play out of mine as well. That's what prompted me in replacing it.

Yeah that's exactly why I did mine. I don't want to touch it pretty much ever again.

Depends on how thick of plating you use, but I used 1/8" on mine and it dropped it 1/8".

    Not by much honestly.

I think you may have got that backwards, DCLB should be just fine... It's what the OP has. Only thing needed is a small backing plate so the bearing can't slip out of that half round frame (I'm guessing on the ford it bolts up to a solid surface and isn't needed for them).

I'll be all over this if I get any vibes from the CB post lift. It's a bit early to tell with not many testers yet or a lot of test time, but it looks like this could be a plug and play solution and tons of people on here have CB vibes. Could turn into a popular fix like the ECGS bushing.

@12TRDTacoma if these are custom made by the company do you think they would end up making a completely bolt on version for the Tacoma if there is a lot of interest? I don't see making a backing plate as a problem for myself but others may not have the tools or know how.

Thanks James, when I first put my lift in I did what I always did and used shims, and the carrier bearing drop kit. Then finding out from ICON that I should not need shims I threw everything off by 3 degrees and had a horrible vibe. Took all the shims out and the carrier bearing drop kit. But in the month or so that I havdthe shims in and changed the driveline by 3 degrees it actually seems to have taken a few chunks out of the rubber on the carrier bearing. So I will be watching this as I hope it will be a longtime fix. As I still have a vibe in it with or without the carrier bearing drop kit in.

No problem, I'll be keeping an eye on this one too. That sucks about the chunks being taken out, hopefully not enough missing that it's lacking support now. I'm far from an expert on the topic but it does seem like getting the driveline angles right is the biggest factor. I'm guessing this bearing takes care of any remaining vibes by reducing the amount of play / slop in the CB. I haven't taken a good look at mine but I'm sure the rubber allows for a pretty good amount of movement.

It drops the driveshaft by about 2 inches. Just look where the stock cb would attach to the frame... at the centerline of the cb, this one mounts on the upper edge. Its not a big deal but just understand it does drop it. There are some easy ways you could get it to mount at the same height if you really want it at the same height.
