Do you have to purchase the entire retrofit kit to use the discount? I just need the projectors, bulbs and a harness because I have some 35w ballasts already.

You don't want to use crappy ballasts plus its not that much more for the whole kit, no need to skimp out on parts

You gonna pay anywhere from $175-$265 for the conversion kit depending on your options, where you could get for about the same price with the discount code

So my solenoid for the high beams is sticking on one of my lights. I talked to TRS and they said to make sure the metal hinges are cycling properly and not getting stuck. Anyone know what these hinges look like so when I open them back up this afternoon I know what I'm looking for?

    Behind the lens.
Remove the black plastic lens holder from the front of the projector and you'll see the solenoid, spring, and fence in front of the reflector bowl.

There is a "fork" that goes along both sides of the plunger on the solenoid... make sure it is filed smooth on both sides.

Ad the ends of the fence, the small tabs pivot inside two tabs with holes in them on the mounting plate. Slightly spread those tabs, and operate the mechanism to make sure it runs smoothly.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to apply some dry graphite powder to the ends and to the solenoid plunger where it contacts the fence.

Did you test the solenoid 30-40 times before assembling? I found that advice in a YouTube video on their channel

    I didn't.
The issue was not as widely known a year ago. Mine did not start sticking for almost 2 months.

Just took a look at it, it wasn't smooth so I think that may have been the issue.

    D2S

Nope. It was working fine though before I sealed the headlights back. I used a crappy set off an 06 as my retrofit lights and the lenses looked really bad, so I swapped out to my stock lenses as well today.

    Thanks!

One question though. It seems to want to stick about 1 out of every 30 times. I've noticed the angled piece that runs below the projector can also have an affect on it sticking. What is the purpose of this piece? If it's pushed towards the lens, it will never stick. Only when it gets moved back towards the rear it'll think about sticking. What I'm referring to is the upside down pyramid shaped object in this picture:

    The wire?

I think that holds the solenoid in position.

Like I said it seems that when it's pushed towards the lens it never sticks because there's enough force to get it to release back and not stick. I might glue that so it stays put.

Hey guys, for the 2012 + Tacomas u have to either trim the H4 adapter plate or just the reflector bowl itself.
Because toyota made the damn bowl at an angle for the mounting instead of being dead on the center.

So i trimmed everything to make it center, and i tighten the nut thing to make the projector tight onto the bowl, but when i tighten it it will throw the projector off center again. But if i just twist the D2S, it can still move. So is that normal....? Is just that if i can twist it to change to rotation alignment, i am afraid that it will be out of alignment sooner or later from vibration?

Yea i got mine to center now, but i when i tighten the final nut, the one that keeps the bulb in place, when i tighten it too much, the projector will turn with it.
I guess i will JB weld that sucker at the end.

Also i tried hooking up the connector with the bulb, and the bulb can still turn with the final nut tighten down on it?

On mine there's a metal ring and a rubber gasket plus a screw on cap that holds the bulb in place but that's for the d2s
