clunk and twang

I've got about 350mi now on my 13 RC 4x4 auto 2.7. When i put it in reverse it has a nice clunk that sounds like it's from the rear end, and when I shut it off it makes this weird twang sound coming from the engine. Normal?
I know still very new, but it's been doing it since i picked it up with 33mi. Just go away over time? Anyone else have this?

The engine air pump makes a distinct noise at shutoff , the clunk is likely the reverse gear engaging. If you think something is amiss take it to the dealer to checkout

 

I'm getting the same noises with my 2013. The braking i'm not worried about since all of my tacomas have done it and I'm told it's the brake adjusters. But the engine makes a flutter/spinning noise followed by a small 'pop' immediately when I turn it off. That's a new sound for me.

 

i know the clunk is the reverse gear engaging...just sounds extra loud to me.
Same here...that noise at engine shutoff is new to me too, never heard it before until this vehicle. And I have a '04 Tacoma, albeit was a V6, but never had that sound on that one
