maybe I'll send my kid under mine. I bought my 11 new and on one of the early free oil changes asked about that clunk. Has ALWAYS done it. They told me everything looked fine. It still does it. I have not lost anything yet ;)

That would be the bolts that attach the rear leafs to the rear axle itself.

Hey guys i know this is old thread but i had a front end and rear end clunk or pop nose when reversing and going forward, after i got my 3 inch bilstein lift installed. The problem was my front lca bolt when not tight enough and the bushing was popping into place, and also my rear leaf spring u bolt were not tight enough causing another popping or clunk noise. Now its fixed just like new

I know this is an old thread but I had the same issue on my 3rd gen Tacoma so I had my wife drive it forward and reversed. I found that the LCA bushing would move forward and back. So I re torqued it down but was still making that noise very slightly. So I sprayed it with a lot of degreaser on both bushing and on both side than hosed it down after I let it dry for a couple of hours and the clunk is gone. I hope this helps

Seems like there are few possible sources to this elusive clunk. I just wanted to update that I changed my front rotors and pads about 12 months ago @ 88Kmiles (because they were worn out -- not because of the clunk) and I haven't heard the clunk since. I was fairly confident that my clunk was coming from within the brake and eventually replacing them is what fixed it for me.
