My 2008 has a shared reservoir, V6, no VSC. Has anyone converted their shared setup to use a separate reservoir for the clutch? I don't know that it matter and if it's worth it, just wondering what-if. Seems like just a matter of getting the reservoir and plumbing.

I know this is old but I am trying to track down the reservoir in the photo here. I cannot find it on toyota parts sites at all.
Can you tell me the year of the truck in the pic and possibly the last 8 of the VIN?

    Sure thing. It's a 2009. Here's the whole VIN - 5TEWN72N63Z164211

2008 and older has no separate reservoir and shares with the brake.

    5TEWN72N63Z164211 would be a 10/2002 production Tacoma I think?

Anyway, I believe the remote clutch master reservoir would be 31402-20160.

Bracket is 31408-60010, there's a couple of hoses, cap, float, etc, too.

I have a 10/2007 production and it's got the shared brake/clutch reservoir. I think the difference is if you have VSC with the electric brake booster. I have the old school vacuum booster.

Yes, it is 4x4. The difference is that only the Off-Road model got the A-TRAC which has the accumulator/brake booster so the rest of the model line up did not get it. What I didn't know is that since it has accumulator/booster, it got a separate clutch reservoir.

I will be doing this so I can install a master cylinder upgrade to accommodate the rear disk conversion. I could have went motorcycle fluid reservoir but decided to make it look factory.

It is not part of the brake fluid reservoir but a rather smallish thing mounted underhood on the driver's side fender adjacent to the big fuse box.

Wow this is finally starting to make sense to me...
My clutch is weeping in the cab from the master somewhere...
AND my brake fluid was low a few weeks ago so I topped that off but could not figure out if my clutch fluid was low..
SO now I see the reservoir is shared for the brakes and clutch and the brake light can also mean low "Clutch Fluid" :)

Now I have to figure out the leak...

Long ago update...this was a leak of the master cylinder behind the clutch pedal...I did a replacement with an after market METAL replacement...It's about a 4hr job if everything goes right...I had fluid all under my floor mat...that's where it was weeping...
The hardest part is getting the hard line into the new master cylinder and threading it. .

Reviving an older thread but anyone have the part number for the shared brake/clutch MC reservoir?

Awesome! Thanks for that. Looks like the whole MC assembly is 47201-04180 but searching off of that diagram, it looks like just the reservoir is 47220-0R050...at 90% of the cost.

Also...was typing this and your S2 lights showed up at the door. They look great. Thanks for those, too.
