I have a 2013 Taco with the 6sp. Everything is stock minus her breather and since day 1 I've had an issue with the clutch pedal. It's not a mechanical issue, everything works as it should but it squeaks worse than a Hoot owl in heat some days. It's not everyday either, one day i'll get in and nothing, she'll run quiet and normal. A couple weeks ago on a date it was unbearable, sounded like nails on a chalkboard everytime it was depressed and released. I've told the dealer when I had service done but it was always quiet then. I'm tempted to oil/grease the bushing under the dash which is where I believe the problem is. Any ideas or anyone else heard of this issue?

A couple years ago I had the same problem. There's a spot way up under there that pivots. I shot a little white lithium grease on it and it hasn't made a sound since then. I'm sure I'll have to do it again, but I got through 2 summers - mine only did it when it was hot outside.

I had this same problem, drove me up the wall. Is what finally fixed for me is I got under there with a pair of vice grip pliers and tightened down the linkage thats under the dash. It's been great ever since.

Totally normal issue on these trucks, mine was terrible when it was hot and humid and any normal grease or lube seemed to melt away so I ended up using disc brake grease and its been silent ever since.

There's a few threads on this. My '13 did it too. Had the TSB done and the damn squeak came back. Like shakerhood mentioned, I used never-seize (similar to disk brake lube) on the pivot between the pedal and rod. Nice and quiet. FWIW, there was a member that had posted how his assy broke and it was thought that the drag, which causes the squeak, was enough to result in the plastic fracturing. I use the brush attached to the lid of the jar of lube to cram it in the pivot. An acid brush (like what you would use to apply solder flux to a pipe) will do just fine too.

    None, stock
Same issue here with a 2014 6 speed. Somedays it would be fine and others would be varying levels of squeak. I had the TSB done which solved it for now (new clutch pedal and master cylinder).

Same. Mine creaked as loud as a castle drawbridge being lowered. Toyota slathered it in white lithium grease (I think) and it went away for the most part, comes back if I'm driving for hours on end.

Sorry that I have no input on your issue but am very curious. Does a hoot owl really hoot more while in heat?? Always looking to learn here on tacomaworld.
