    Hello TW Community,

I have a 96 Tacoma LX 4x4 with 384,000 miles on the OD. It has been a phenomenal vehicle and has given me little trouble.

My issue is: The clutch pedal only returns about 90-5% percent. There is roughly one inch left for the pedal to fully return. I simply pull the clutch pedal out with my toe, so I don't wear the clutch.

Is my slave cylinder bad? Is the clutch pedal assembly worn? (although it doesn't seem to be hung up or obstructed in any way)...

FYI: The master cylinder fluid is full. There are no apparent leaks of any kind.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. I would like to fix it myself without having to take it to the dealer.

    Thanks!
    TM

Sounds like the slave cylinder is worn out. You can rebuild it with a kit

    Thanks for the quick response!

Is the slave cylinder bolted on the firewall directly below the master cylinder?

What is the purpose of the slave cylinder?
