    Rain Visors,
Hey guys, sometimes in first, I will get a nasty clutch shudder, same in reverse. Doesn't happen all the time, and clutch doesn't slip. Also If I stay in Nuetral, depress the clutch and let it go, it seems like it hangs for a second and returns slowly. Im not sure if it always did this and now Im just noticing..

Thoughts? Its got 52K on it, and I've cooked clutches before and its not giving me the normal signs....any thoughts on the matter? TOB maybe?

I have a shutter too, but i find it only does it when it rains. After 20 mins of driving it goes away

I don't know about the 6cyls, but the clutches in the 4cyls are weak IMO; I sometimes have trouble smoothly getting started and will get a minor shudder. I've been driving stick for 23 yrs and 300k+ miles and this is the only vehicle that I've had issues with.

Mine does it only at first start up in 1st (not sure about reverse) but it isn't common. Once up to operating temperature I haven't had it lunge or shudder once. Are you experiencing it during the first 10-15 mins of operation or just randomly?

    Rain Visors,
more randomly, not right at start up. Today it happened in both first and reverse after an hr of driving around. Did it that once, and not again....getting annoying

No problems here typically. I will say though that I learned to drive with manual transmissions, been driving them my whole life, and I found the clutch on my Tacoma to take a little more getting used to than any other.

As for the clutch pedal returning a bit slowly, I have noticed the same thing in mine when it's really cold, but typically only for the first few minutes at most. Others have said the same thing. I think there's even a recent thread going about it.

Yeah I don't feel it's anything to worry about because it goes away once warm. for the original poster since it's random I'd be a little more concerned...

    Rain Visors,
I might have to get this checked then, or hope I can blow it up soon and get them to fix it for free since I still have 23K on my warrenty. I learned how to drive on a manual and have never had anything but, so i'm not saying it's me, its just random times. I have have to see what happens.

the clutch is very slow to return but engauges just fine, ts just that random shudder that's annoying me.
