I just bought my 2004 TRD SR5 4x4 with 77K miles on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the clutch wouldn't engage, I called the dealership and they looked it at today and said it needs a new slave cylinder. I just noticed on the dealer's repair report that they removed an aftermarket towing package before the truck was sold to me. Is a slave cylinder failing this early in the truck's life a sign it was used for excessive towing?

I wouldn't think excessive towing would damage the slave cylinder. It might cause premature failure of the clutch itself, though.
