If you are at a dead stop, put it in gear and slowly release the clutch without giving it gas, can you feel it engage when it catches?

Does your pedal feel soft and mushy? Or do the hydraulics feel fine?

I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
I don't mean to butt in but after i rebuilt my slave cylinder, flushed the lines and put in new fluid, and I did the spring, it made a world of difference.
tomorrow I am going to rebuild the main clutch cylinder to make sure its in tip top shape.
but none of that is hard, if I can get my ol fat ass down there and do it anyone can.

No it doesn't feel soft. It's basically a continuous feel all the way. And it squeaks and pops in the meantime

Ive felt a 2000 V6 clutch and it felt nothing like mine. And
A bunch of my friends felt mine and said that it's not the way it's supposed to be. There's have a feel to it

Clutches are supposed to have a nice linear feel to them IMO... Not just grab at some point and go. It's much smoother feeling. I think as the clutch wears it engages higher and higher in the pedal's range of motion, which makes this linear engagement much shorter to the point where it's basically on or off. I noticed this in a friend's Accord that had a known bad clutch... it was like nothing until you had the pedal almost all the way out then boom!

Maybe your clutch is the only one that's good and all your friends have bad clutches :p

I've thought of this too, but I felt some clutches at the toyota dealer and they felt like my friends. I'm not saying you're wrong because you might be right. I just don't know haha

Frankly I have no idea. Those are just my observations in my relatively short driving career.

okay so i just checked my spring.....
and it was so lose and stretched (that's what I said) that I barely touched it and it fell off.
The hydros must have been keeping the pedal cycling

I bought a couple #70 springs, the other day. Been planning on doing this mod, as my clutch squeaks a little but everything works fine and I'd hate to fix something that isn't broken... All you guys that bought #70 springs how's it holding up? OP you're spring look like it had way too many coils? Do you believe that is why it fell off?

So this only fixes a squeak that comes from inside the cab right? Because I have a squeak that comes and goes and I hear it from right under the truck. I can hear it from inside but its definitely outside as I hear it worse when the window's down.

FWIW... the ticking noise went away on mine.

Don't know if it's the gaffer's tape I wrapped around that welded notch, or if the clutch pedal gremlin decided to move on...
