My bad man I forgot we were talking about the deck plate. My mind has been everywhere because of this move.
Not really too noticeable in the cab but you can hear it outside.

    Huh?

And what's all this babble about a 2jz? U plan on doin that swap? That's a terrible idea if u are. And its much easier to get a 1jz and cost efficiently built it then a 2jz. Ask me how I know :D

3vzs..the 3.0l V6 that toyota introduced in like 89 or 90 i think. Gas guzzling bogged down motors. No power. 5vz was introduced in 95 and is a bored out version. the 3.4l. Much much better.

1jz are cool..but NOT in a truck haha no torque. Hell i wouldn't even put one in a supra. Id take a 7mgte over that. Once you start pushing power its incredible what difference that .5L of displacement makes. Upwards of over 100hp.

if you want to go cheap...go 2jzge-T....or..1.5jz

Oh ok. I'm only familiar with 4 banger yota motors. Lol
And exactly. That's why I said no 2jz because high hp but no torque. And 7mgte are crap. They make no power and always have problems. Jz series are much better built motors. 2jz internals will hold 1000hp, 1jz will get on up there. 7m go boom not even close to that

I owned a built a 7mgte. If built right they are just a good. Just need an extra quart of oil and MHG properly torqued and seated. But stock is only good for 400 max.

And I think you mean no 1jz...

    1jz are 2.5L

    2jz is 3.0l as is 7mgte.

    The 1jz has no torque.

2jz will not hold 1000hp. You need forged pistons and rods. They will get to 600-700 though on stock internals.

I was a supra guy before a tacoma guy.

I will call your bluff on the no 1000hp. There was a local a few years ago that had one on stock internals pushing 1050hp. Couldn't tell you any more details, unfortunately I was just getting into cars at the time

    lol Bluff??

and i find that a bit hard to believe. I was in the supra game for almost 5 years.

Everyone on the 3 forums i was involved with said not to go past 800 on stock.

I mean i guess sure its possible to hit 1000...but its not as reliable without forged. The boost from a large turbo to hit those numbers is about 20psi outa a 70mm or larger turbo. That is a TON of air. then the added fuel and such just is way to much strain.

    But yea..sure..possible.i guess.

    safe..no

its like the few guys that tried running 500hp on stock 7mgte internals..works great..for a while..then..boom..

Def was true though. Unless he was lying but he was filthy rich so I don't see why he would lie about it. But that supra didn't last.. He totalled it a few weeks later and went out and bought a 98 supra tt right after to replace it. Too freaking rich.

I'm an all out mkiv. My all time favorite car without a doubt.

His parents died in an accident, he inherited a couple million and blew it all on about a year and a half. How ridiculous.

It's def possible. It has been done time and time again. 1000hp on stock internals is what I said and will stick by. Yes its not "safe" but there a lot of things that aren't "safe" that are done on a consistent basis everyday. I have built 3 7m motors now, 1 2jz, and 1 1jz and fixin to build my second 1jz in my buddies mkIII and from my experience the 2jz is the most capable when it comes to pure numbers, the 1jz is the most cost efficient and sensible when it comes to a powerful, safe build and the 7m is just unreliable and lacking in abundant parts to worry about fuckin with. That's just my personal experience since my buddy bought his first mkIII when we were 14.

oh 2jz is with out a doubt the holy grail of all motors as far as i am concered. Thing is epic.

But id still take a 7m over a 1jz..if built right and well maintained..they work awesome. You just have to give them a bit more..love haha but yes they are much harder to get big reliable power out of. But for a 400hp supra to shred the streets, which lets be honest..is all you really need for a fun streetable hot rod supra, then the 7m is great. I was going for 450rwhp with mine. didn't happen..as i got sucked into my tacoma lol

7m parts are very easy to find now since so many people part them out and places like Driftmotion offer lots of Toyota parts for cheap. The 7m is freakin cheap as dirt to build up compare to either jz motor.

however..a 2jz..holy shit man..cost a freaking arm and leg and both testicles for good parts! freaking ridiculous!

Nice! caging it up huh? wow.

i was just building a street shredder. Lots of epic mountain roads here. I wanted 450rwhp and boot FAST. I had a 67mm inducer turbo with .58 AR! lol was gonna get nice suspension for the roads and then just carve it up and drive it like mad.

    here was my motor..
