Then you have to deal with the spring at full compression binding because its too long. KISS - 14" spring with an appropriate spring rate for your truck and you'll be fine.

^ So how do you like your Kings? Do you have standard or heavier coils? How much lift did you gain? Is it harsh? Did you remove your sway bar?

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
OME coils are longer, and more robust. This is an example from a Prado:

That's not necessarily true. If the spring and strut/shock on a coilover are paired up properly (OME for example) than the suspension will travel as it should without any ill effect, given the owner installs the proper bumpstop.

He initially said 2" longer and i interprited that as 2" longer than the common lift springs (14" @600# and 13" @ 650#). So I think we're on the same page

I've had OME and now my kings and my fiance has icons. I really love my kings. I have the standard 600# springs and they're fine because my front bumper and skids are aluminum. My sway bar is off and probably staying off

Why did you decide to replace the OME with kings? and are the Kings noticeably smoother than the Icons?

Ahhh, my misinterpretation. We are on the same sheet of music.

    Aluminum bumper and skids? :jellydance:

No sway, good man! Sway-less myself and never going back.

While I had my 09 I learned what I liked to do and when I traded it in for my '11 I built it to be better suited for what I like. It would be hard to compare mine and my fiances. Maybe that means they are close, but they're the DSM icons that aren't valved like normal icons. Only reason she wanted icons was because the blue kings "would clash with all the pink on my truck". I'm not a fan of the icon design or spring choice.

    ;)
