I'm looking at doing the same thing(getting rid of the stock shocks and the spacer and going with a 6 inch lifted coilover)

What is the difference in cost?
    and Ride?

    Yes
There are a few more differences in the stage 1 and stage 2 procomp kits. If you ditch the spacer and go with the 2.5 CO's you should double check with your PC dealer to be sure. I know the sway bar spacers and the sway bar positioning are different and I think there are a couple other small kit parts you may need. I have seen the tie rod ends not flipped for some reason on the stage one kits too. Icon has a purpose built CO for 6" lifted trucks and Fox will do a custom factory series build for you with a custom length eyelets and custom valving too. If you go with Icon Donwsouth Motorsports in San Diego has a custom valve figured out for great ride quality.

Those are the ones I had. It was a huge difference.
@Manwithoutaplan can also chime in here cause he bought mine and put some 700# coils on them. The true test was rock therepy.

i have the same situation... i have a stage 1 kit. and to upgrade. i need new coil overs.
sooooooooo it's like 1800 . icon and fox was suggested for me. but i can't imagine paying that much more. but I'm sure it would be worth it, if you are an avid offroader.

I even thought about Kings because if I'm gonna spend that much on shocks why not go with the best?

Just cut off all the ifs stuff and stock rear axle.....going big......... wet okole seat covers, red line hood struts, 4xi sliders, bruteforce rear w/ tire carrier, bruteforce front bumper with warn m8000s, bestop soft top, alpine HU and JL speakers, 2nd battery and isolator, arb air compressor, tank and tire fill, FXR projector retrofit by AMBIGUOUS, overhead console by KNINE
When I had the PC 6 in lift I started with the stage 2 that has the procomp longer coil overs instead of the spacer. It preformed ok. I went with king front and rear with compression adjusters when I upgraded. If your going to rock crawl you will want/need aftermarket upper and lower control arms. Then you will want to upgrade to a custom leaf pack and longer rear shocks, I went with alcan leafs and they preformed beautifully. I also removed the sway bar because with the compression adjusters I could stiffen up the front coilovers for on road and not get much body roll but soften em up for offroad.
But read Jon's thread he had all the info in there.

One thing you can look at as a cheaper alternative to shelling out the big bucks on the icon's or fox's is get the longer bilstein 5100's used on the rcd db kit. Myself and radtaco914 both ran this set up which allows you to ditch the spacer.

A good alternative until you decide to move the DB. :)
