Sounds like you already have the answers because any advice you go against. Your truck and money. Like stated these intakes mainly add sound with less filtration and little to no power gains. Now if you did headers, exhaust and tune it might give you a little.

There is no appreciable difference with a cold air intake.

I beg to differ with my experience with the URD intake. Went back to stock just a couple of weeks ago and I can feel I lost to top end power. Do I miss it? Yes I do! Do I regret it? No, have the snorkel sitting in my garage? Would I do it again? In a heartbeat!

Had one on my previous XRunner with the MAF CALIBRATOR and that made noticeable gains as well. Had all the bolts on my XRunner and that thing was a beast, miss that truck!

Not going against anything. I’ve seen some pretty bad K&N fails. Just stating what i’ve seen and heard and looking for conversation. Nothing that serious.

Just seeing what other people are experiencing with theirs. We all know different trucks can have different out comes. Mileages, Year models, Mods previously done, etc. It’s nothing serious man. All in good fun.

I miss my X-runner. going from and EVO to the X-runner was a nice transition. Although it's not an EVO I still was able to track it. The CAI/MAFcal and full exhaust was definitely a nice change in power

That’s sweet man! Upload some more pictures of it. Love them. What do you guess you’re 0-60 was? I’ve heard they can be decently quick.

Do you have Dyno sheets? Butt Dyno does not count.

This is my 4th 4.0 V6, 3x 2nd gens and a 4th Gen 4Runner, very familiar and aware of a stock 4.0 vs one with a URD INTAKE or with BOLT ONS.

I don’t have dyno numbers, all I can tell you with the URD intake, there is a noticeable difference. Again, just returned to a stock intake a couple of weeks ago and can notice a difference.

With all of URD’s bolt ons, even more of a gain in power but you do lose low end torque. :)

    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
Yes there is . . . your wallet is lighter, so lighter weight in the truck, so better gas mileage . . .

Is that made out of aluminum or coated steel? I would think it would be a continuous heat sink at the engine operating temperature transferring the heat to the incoming air.

    Yeah.
Regarding airflow restriction, the computer measures and controls this. There *might* be a small difference in throttle response by reducing some restriction. Unless the computer has the butterfly wide open trying to get more air than the intake allows, there is likely no difference in power. For a NA stock engine, the stock intake is more than adequate. This isn't the old days of carburetors. But in the end, it's your truck. I have the TRD intake on mine - but I did it more for the looks and because I was bored, not because I expected any performance differences.

Lucky Duck!! You might be able to contact the company that makes the intake and say "I have just independently verified the performance of your product, I will send you the complete dyno files and write up for a discount on my air filter." Maybe you can get some money back OR the product for free. :notsure:
