looking to get a cold air intake and a tuner was wondering what the best top 3 would be in both?
Was looking at the voolant- K&N- AFE- and TRD CAI
Don’t know a whole lot of tuners for a Tacoma
if y’all could just help me out and I know it doesn’t do crazy amount of power and I don’t plan on it being fast.
    I have v6 4.0 liter with a Y-pipe to dual 5 inch tips

Dont waste your money on a cai. I run OV Tune on my Tacoma and I am happy with it.

Spend your money on hp tuner instead, ask what's his name to make you a tune, profit

Do waste your money, the URD intake + URD Maf calibrator was/is worth it.. I also installed Doug Thorly Short tube headers sooo yeah..

If you go this route be careful, buy a spare ecu in case you brick one.

Picking up a few MPG's and HP/TQ simultaneously over the OEM tune, is nothing to be so easily disregarded. Especially with the addition of the modded exhaust cam gears, machined by @mightytacoman .

As for the CAI, there are plenty of datalogs now which stand in contrast of the sayings that they "are worthless" or "they don't do anything." Improved g/s flow across the MAF is proof in those datalogs.

Just look to see which intakes the guys in the performance section regard as best overall. They have quite the lot to offer good reviews and pros vs cons. TRD S/C Tips and Tricks will have your best information and member response time than the 2nd Gen section.

That would be @JustDSM. He charges ~$50. Don't quote that exactly.

I know he charges I just wasn't sure how much so I didn't want to throw around a false price or service.

If you get a CAI for the sound and intend to go off-road, get the Volant. The front-facing hole in the air box is round, so it's easier to cap off.

The URD CAI requires a shield and a "sock" over the filter for heavy rain...

I like my Volant due to the scoop (I have the oem Inlet blocked off due to being exposed to the tires) and also the paper filter vs an oiled one. The Donaldson Powercore filter it comes with is huge.
