Is the trd pro cold air intake the same for a 2020 tacoma trd pro
as the 2019? Unfortunately my local Toyota dealer doesnt have a part number for a 2020 and couldn't verify if the 2019 will work.
    Thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't work, but cannot validate. I don't think they've changed anything on the stock intake. Hopefully someone that has tried it on a 2020 will chime in. Ignore the flame posts that will tell you it is useless and doesn't do anything. I did it because I was bored and it looks good, not for performance or sound.

Customer service has gone to complete shit these days. I get that all the time now, “I don’t know,” I immediately follow with, “then please direct me to someone who does.”

    Anywho,
I would wager that the stock intake system is identical in all third gen models, unless you’re running the TRD intake which is probably also identical across the third gen board.

Edit: relative to what engine you have.

Thanks for the quick reports. I tend to agree with both replies but will post a verification once I receive and install the part

You’ll hear the same song and dance for the TRD exhaust. I love mine, even if all it does is tickle my butt dyno.

"Tickle my butt dyno" is my new favorite performance descriptor.

If you are considering the TRD cold air intake and can live without all the pretty red and black TRD stuff, just get the Intake Flow Accelerator (PTR0335160AE) and the TRD Performance Air Filter (PTR0334140). Those are the "working" parts of the TRD cold air intake for about $300 less than the full kit with the TRD box and tubes.

Thanks everyone for your quick and accurate response. Even though it says it fits 2016-2019 tacoma V6s, The CAI did fit on my 2020 tacoma. There has been no change in the design.

Can compete the “poor man’s” trd intake with hps 57-1600 tube.

I installed the TRD Performance Air Intake System PTR0335160 on my 2021 TRD OR 6MT and imho it definitely helps improve throttle response.

In hindsight, really wish I had tried the poor man's approach because it does seem that the key, primary improvement in the system is the rubber gasket that seals to the fender inner panel (and the K&N type filter). The straight-shot pipe and smaller resonator surely are an added factor overall, but I've got to believe that the rubber gasket seal is really the primary factor that improves throttle response.

Can anyone confirm that the intake flow accelerator passes the butt test on its own?

Same performance gains as adding a TRD sticker to the window. But it's a $380 version. It does look nice though. Hard to deny that.

Driving 2 back to back one stock one with intake there is something going on there and is noticeable, right around 2500 rpms but for sure over 3000 rpms it did add a small bump. I did the filter, flow accelerator and HPS tube and it does have more punch in the mid range RPMs. I believe its due to a slight flow increase to the engine as the tube is larger and more smooth.
