    Mines was a 98 2.7 and thats where it was.

    I KNOW it had a charcoal CANISTER! He said "Filter"....I thought he was talking about the charcoal filter in the intake track.

    Mine idled high like OP on coldstarts until I replaced the stupid autolite plugs, the dealer certified preowned 160 pt inspection neglected, with the factory denso iridiums. Now it acts right.

    Iridiums shouldnt be used on the firstgen engines.

    Yeah but I wouldn't have autolite nothin in mine. Only thing that i would recommend for toyota motors is whatever came in them from the factory. Which is the iridiums in 2nd gen 2.7's case. I'd say OP should go with whatever came factory in denso or ngk flava then see what's up.
