Im squatting heavy right now. Maybe a good excuse to upgrade lol. A whole semesters worth of clothing, books, bikes:), and Clorox wipes etc. is really testing it. Tonneau is packed tightly too!!

Yeah about par for a stock Taco. Strictly designed for surfboards and a couple of bikes. Haha. They really improve with a better suspension. You need about $3000 worth.

See with the bikes its harder to tell. The Bike carrier doesnt help the squat much because it just adds tongue weight and its so heavy. In total, probably 100lbs on the hitch, at least 250lb in the bed, 150 in the second row maybe.

so about 500 lbs plus one human driver estimated around 150lbs. you have are around 625-700lbs total payload of an available 1175lbs max payload capacity for a DCSB 4x4 Auto.

CORRECTION, 200lb dad plus 150lb college kid would be at least 825lbs of payload.

I'm old enough to let my son pack his own car for grad school and load and unload it lol. The squat in the back is what it's designed to do. I've had right at a thousand lbs in the back and it leveled out nicely. Headlights are aimed better with a load too! If you or I hauled that load daily I'd say upgrade. If you are like me and only haul a heavy load several times a year then it's not worth losing the softer ride when empty.
I do remember loading up my 4Runner when my daughter was a freshman and a few years later when the boy was a freshman though. Good times.

That is bad too. I don't know which is worse... a little brat driving around in a 70k vehicle or a mint classic.

Well, I will be throwing a yard of compost in the back this fall (at least 3 times) so I figure it better get ready.
That will fall somewhere between 1,000-1,600lbs depending on moisture content. It will have to deal with that three times in a day when I re-work the garden beds this year!!!
