Wow! Slicer software, .STL files - brings back memories of the early 1990’s for me when I had the opportunity at work to create prototypes and scale model spacecraft using CAD software and 3D Systems Stereolithography Apparatus model SLA250.

    First fails.
Came off the bed pretty early.

and while the 2nd attempt was going, I learned how to make the Brim bigger and add a layer to the base to make it stick better. So that file is waiting until the white PLA shows up before making a 3rd attempt.
2nd attempt was just 4 minutes away from finishing. after running for an hour.
still pretty cool though, it bounces nice, so have high hopes for one that finishes.

Found a short leg file intended for 1/2" shelving, I sized it down to fit 6mm MDF board.
Planning to make a small drawer underneath it that will support the center as well.
Finally made something useful with it.

The black one looks about right, the white ones are definitely shed size.
    It's a start.

You are going to love this....

The library has a 3d print program. Submit the STL file and they will print it for the cost of materials.

I've printed a bunch of RC stuff with them...

It's more fun this way. The PLA is incredibly cheap and really seems to go a long way.
And I don't have to go downtown.

I still have that low level grinding sound coming from beneath the Tundra.
Did the bushing replacement on the driver front for the CV shaft, it was bad, had lots of play and was making a knocking sound. That all went away, it's tight. But the grind is still there and getting bad enough that I won't drive it again.

Shifting in and out of 4x4 makes no change in the sound.
Jacked it up in the rear, wheel bearings seem tight, no slop, rotates free and quiet.
No pinion play. Brakes are not dragging.
Dropped the center carrier bearing and gave it a spin, smooth as silk, was replaced last summer anyway trying to trace this noise.
    All U-joints greased and good.
Checked transfer case oil, full and remarkably clean, did not drain. Still a question mark here though.
Checked front wheel bearings, tight , no play, drives straight. No extra sounds when turning the wheel.
Transmission goes thru all gears no problem, sound never changes.

Last night, on my short 1.5 mile drive for donuts, I had the window down and can hear it echoing off the houses, pretty bad.
It's worse in coast, not as pronounced upon acceleration.

It's not a constant noise, but a very regular "grind, grind, grind"

Might possibly be a main shaft bearing in the T-case, but again, the oil is clean and full.
So I don't know, this one has me stumped. Might be taking it to Pederson and have them diagnose and fix it. Unless anyone has a suggestion.

that's pretty badass. having a printer at home is a blessing and a curse because it requires maintenance lol

    I should also mention,
checked both T-case outputs, no play.
Put transmission in neutral, can spin shafts by hand and there is no noticeable noise from the case. Is this model a chain drive?
Also, had the rear wheels in the air, front blocked, and spun the shit out of them with the engine, noise was not there. It's dangerous, don't try this at home.
So it's under load, either vehicle weight or rolling resistance that is causing it.

I guess Pederson can take care of that decade old airbag recall at the same time, so not a total waste of time.

Does the chain drive the rear or just hook up the front?
Wondering if it's slack in the chain. I can swap a T-case but draw the line at automatic transmission repair.

That makes me lean toward a possible bad main shaft bearing in the T-case. Crap.

Changing gears to a lighter subject.
One does not simply reduce size of a thing, the other things don't change along with it.
Tunnel prototypes, and an exercise in shaping shit.
The farthest one back, 1st attempt, too wide.

next attempt, using actual measurements, the center did not shrink as much as the outside.
The vertical section also shrinks, changing the inner dimension.
3rd attempt, so close, dropped by 4mm from the 2nd. 4th and closet piece, increased by 2mm and it's perfect. From here I can lengthen as needed. Still can't figure out curves or radius yet.

And got the dice project figured out. Again, first was an oops as it's not uniform, kind of fat and flat. 2nd one worked out when I paid better attention to dimensions and unchecked a box.
Opposing sides do add up to 7.
