LCA's lol, no worries! I called them probably 10 times and used their website chat things, never got an answer. Even called Toytec and tried to see if they would go get them for me lol, they checked it they could but unfortunately weren't able to. They did call R4T for me and they answered for them, told them they would call me back shortly... Never did.

Now my truck has to sit on jack stands until Tuesday and I have a find a way to get to work

 

Got a question for the brain trust.
Selling my Dyna, been listed for a month, had a few texts on it, they always end with wanting some kind of VIN report thru various websites. I ignore them after that. Is this now common practice on purchasing vintage vehicles?

 

I'm working on selling a vehicle too. I've had several people ask me to do the same for them. I just supply the carfax for them and leave it at that. I don't click on what link they give me

 

I had the same thought.
I have the Experian report, any problems sending information that contain the VIN# to a complete stranger?

 

Dude just texted back and wants the Procarfax report, and goes on to say it has 29-32 pages of info and that's all he trusts.

basically it's a scam to get you to send them money via buying their fake reports. don't buy any reports from a stranger lol

 

there are a lot of scams out there but for $20 I can show you how to avoid them

Asking for a VIN is reasonable. Asking to share a carfax (or similar) report you already have is reasonable. Asking you to give your credit card to some website you don't know/trust is grounds to pound sand.

A VIN can be read from outside the car, so sharing it with someone isn't any riskier than parking the car on the street.
