Im about to finally become a taco owner this coming week! I just need a little help with my camper shell. I have a Leer camper shell on a 2015 Chevy Colorado Crew Cab with 5ft short bed and I am trying to figure out if it will fit on a 2005 Tacoma. Everything I’ve come up with online says it will be close.. I’m just looking for a second opinion!
    Thank you

Why are you trading your Colorado for a Tacoma if you don't mind me asking?

Eh, that looks bad. I'd sell it, then get a proper one.

Reason for selling isn’t anything with the truck. It drives really well, almost like a car, but still functions like a truck. I get 18/19mpg city and 20-26mpg on the highway depending if I drive 70mph or 80mph. That being said, it’s not a Tacoma. Not very much you can do to affordably customize a Colorado.

As for my shell, I do have a leer shell and it’s form is slightly different than the ARE above. If I were to sell it, how much do you think I should ask for it?

Did you buy it new? What'd you pay? How old is it?

I bought it a year ago new. It’s carpeted, has rear slider, roof rack, and pet screens.

What'd you pay new? I'd list it around $1,500 or so.

I paid $2100 for it. $1500 seems hopeful, don’t you think?

No, not at all. You'd be surprised what these things sell for. Plus you're gonna get haggled down a little bit. I got a 2nd gen camper shell on a trade that had a carpeted interior, but no roof rail racks. and had some slight cosmetic damage. Listed it for $1200 and sold it for $1000 IIRC. Or maybe I listed it for $1500 and sold it for $1200.

Can never post too high. I bought my very nice snugtop, carpeted, for $700 or $800, and I wouldn't have paid a dime more than $800. That isn't to say somebody won't, so ask high. The challenge is how many Colorado's are in your zip code for prospective buyers. As a for instance, I work in a building of about 800 people and walk through our garage every day, there are 8 or more Tacoma's and not a single Colorado/Canyon.

I'm looking for a good used camper topper 61.1" L x 57.2" or close in Texas for our 2020 Colorado?
