Is anyone else annoyed with the new Colorado commercials? First they compare a civic owner to a truck then they compare a corolla owner to a big bad Colorado. What are they trying to prove? That their brand new truck is more city capable than two Japanese budget cars? I know Toyota normally doesn't attack other automakers but I hope they go all out against Chevy. I'm glad the Colorado is here now because the Tacoma needed competition but I didn't know the Colorado was shooting for the compact car market

I've noticed that too. They don't shutup about being Motor Trend's truck of the year.

Chevy is just trying to get the guy that would just be fine with a car, but instead make him buy a more expensive truck cause he thinks he will look cool and be a man. Then chevy gets more money.

And know that ford has got an aluminum truck almost every commercial with chevy trucks has to say something about there "high strength steel". I probably see the stupid GMC sierra one with the rolled formed steel bed and the submarine every other commercial.

I remember that. Rolled formed steel bed, as soon as I saw that I asked, did a single truck owner have a problem with the strength of the bed? To buy into that gimmick I think really takes a lot of sheepness

I love commercials. I like to see how they try and manipulate our minds into thinking we have to have that product. I wish they would go back to the days of using more subliminial messages.

I like the Colorado commercials about as much as I like the Nissan ones with the trucks/cars going down the half-pipe or ski runs... you would be an idiot if that swayed you to purchase a Nissan.

It's called "marketing," and the way they do it is up to them. there are far worse commercials on TV.

The fact that you remember the commercial makes it a success. It's like the stupid VW ads in print during the 60's. They'd stick a can of soup on a white page with the word Volkswagen just to get the name to stick in your mind. If it shocks you, makes you laugh, leaves you wondering WTF did you just watch, or makes you think it's retarded the commercial did it's job.

Y'all getting wound up over nothing. They know that they won't be stealing the Tacoma market from Toyota. They're trying to get people to think that their trucks are as economical as the Civic or Corolla (even though they aren't), and trying to lure those buyers. FS truck lovers won't downsize, and they know they can't compete with Tacoma popularity, so they have to snatch buyers from crossovers and SUVs, while making compact owners feel inadequate.

"Hey there, Civic boy! Want a bigger dick? Buy our truck!"

We all just gave the Colorado free advertising, I guess their commercial worked and the OP lost.

I don't know how strong the new GM full size beds really are, but my F350 work truck bed that was Line-X'd when new is completely thrashed. It's dented to hell and the bottom of it looks like a washboard.

So yeah most newer trucks beds are made of flimsy steel.
