Only the 2uz has weak rods. 3uz has lots of supercharger support for drift cars. 1uzs are popular to turbo too..

    But whatever.

Truck is coming a long good! Love the feeling when you fire it up for the first time in months.

Yea. Why he isn't gonna supercharge it..cause of the weak rods. 2uzfe is 4.7l. 1uz is 4.0 and 3uz is 4.3

I was told that after 98ish the 1uz,2uz, and 3uz all had the same rods. I have no proof, just what I was told. I thought I saw a picture on Lextreme where all the rods where laid out next to each other and the later engines had the same rods. the Early 1uz (89-90?) had the thick rods, or you can buy a set of H-beam rods through lextreme, or some other performance shop...

Either way, it doesn't matter to me. Im not looking for boost or anything else.. I just want my truck back on the road...

    edit: Proof from lextreme...

Pretty sure your right about early 1uzs. But thought 3uzs had much different rods..

Stroke is determined by the crankshaft. :)

Here is a better video with the lights on. The 4 cyl tach is reading correctly. The oil light has been fixed. I put the Tacoma's sender back in.
