hello everybody. i am a former owner of an evo 8 and i decided to come to the side of the off road. first of all i have never owned a truck but i have always had a thing for tacomas. hopefully this weekend i will get one. looking forward on learning all about these trucks. first question: What should i be looking at when buying one of these trucks? thanks in advance.

Decide up front if you want LSD or open diff. The TRD packages come with one or the other.

If you buy new you shouldn't have any problems, but if you buy used, check to see if it has had the TSB (technical service bulletin) work done. Get familiar with those. There is a sticky thread dedicated to them. If you buy used, it may be out of warranty and you probably won't be able to get any TSB work done.

technically he needs to decide between lsd or an open diff with an electronic locker
