Should be a sticker, or you can measure the vertical height from the bed rail to the top of the cap

I dont mind it. Ultimately with the use of mirrors and a back up camera set to anytime, I hardly notice it.

    Is it a good deal?

1300 for a DCSB with the double doors. I feel like any commercial shell for a short bed is a good find

After much debating, I placed an order today for a A.R.E. DCU Shell painted to match the Taco. I searched from Calif. to the Mid-West and there was nothing used that fit and is what I needed. I always laugh when I hear of guys finding the perfect shell for 100.00. Those always escape me! I always end up paying full retail. Guess I need to plan better and be more patient.

The shell will have solid full lift doors on each side with a driver side tool box. Acrylic lined inside with a slider. The plan will be to mount an ARB or similar awning to the side of the A.R.E. roof rack.

So i found on fb marketplace are dcu cap looks taller than cab, so assuming 26” but won’t be meeting up with the seller until this weekend. How u tell the difference with the 2nd and 3rd gen cap? It’s white so my plan is to linex the shell or have wrapped flat black. Already have my bestop on my truck and i love the look but i use my bed daily and it’s come to a point i leave the rear window panel off most the time bc I’m tired of removing it everytime i need to load large boxes in

Check out some of the rear view front and rear cameras on Amazon that displays to a mirror that clips over your stock mirror. I picked one up and plan on installing soon.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XZ1D226/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Plus add a small blind spot mirror and stick it on to your left and right mirror. The small ones that you can pick up at walmart.

I had just picked up one with windows and i noticed the cap rear window sits a little high so if someone tailgating you you probably will only see the roof of the car, I’ve driven a work truck with no windows before and not that bad but i like to be able to see if someone following ya (I’m a little paranoid) lol

Got this couple days ago from fb marketplace and took some pics. Pretty clean and few scratches and dings considering it belonged to a contractor

Have had my Tradesman for about 7 weeks now. Picked it up at Access Mfg. in Northern California and immediately took it on a 5k mile road trip through the west. Have about a dozen nights in the back so far and it’s been great. Opted for the “buy once, cry once”strategy and went with most of the features (26”, reinforced, dual windows on each side, dual flip outs, skin, insulation, carpet, Dometic Fantasic Fan, LED light, 3rd brake light, Thule tracks (with a Prinsu on there now).

Happy to answer any questions or provide more pics.

I shared this also on the tradesman truck tops page. New shell installed today. This is the A.R.E. DCU with 26" height. Slider in front, toolbox and rack.

Looks great! Can I ask how far the toolbox protrudes in (measured from the bed rail)? Really wanting one just like yours except the standard 23" height and probably a window on the passenger side. I love the idea of a toolbox for storage but curious how much that would impact a sleeping platform. I know it'll be tighter but would be great to still be able to sleep two in the back.

So I just measured. From the Bed Rail (inside portion) it extends into the truck bed exactly 10 3/4". At the top of the shell because is isn't as wide, it is only 8" into the bed area. The height of the tool box within the shell is 23" tall. That was also my concern with losing valuable real estate in the bed for storage or a bed. Once you are inside the shell, it doesn't seem to take up a lot of room. I miss having a window because of the toolbox I think more then losing the 10 3/4" space.
