I will be doing this mod this weekend, I have a couple questions now after I popped off the AC control unit, my box is blue and not red like many mentioned is this an issue?. Also, my wires in this location are close to impossible to get too due to the limited room.

So I will try the option by the glove box per this thread. Here on page 1
reloadedkid mentioned he inserted a cable to a yellow wire and posted pics, is he pulling the 12v from here to the blue wire in the harness? or is he adding the 12v to that yellow wire only?

I could use a little clarification. Thanks

This is a fantastic write up. I chose the black electrical tape mod over the dash light when one of my sensors went out... works good enough!!!

Why go through all the trouble ?

why not just pull the bulb or put a piece of tape over it ?

Just to update with some details on my 2013 .

The blue box behind the HVAC is nearly impossible to reach, let alone work on the wires. You would need inspector gadget.

I was able to find the same blue wire on the right side of the glove box.

post 3 of This threadshows its location http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/161292-complete-tpms-disable-guide.html

Grounding the wire did not turn off the light. But jumping 12volts to it did.

All said and done, I ending up just putting some black tape over the bulb behind the gauges. Its super easy to do, and I was unsure about the 12v trick after reading that the correct voltage is supposed to be 5v.

Honestly , its way easier to tape the bulb. The wires are not easy to reach on either side.
