Use lugnuts to hold the rotor against the hub face to center it. Press the brake pedal. The pads will squeeze the rotor and keep it in place even after you let off the pedal. Remove lugnuts and put the wheel on.

Anyone have this mod and the SOS rear disk kit?
I do and it stops amazing and pedal feel is greatly improved, but my brake light has been intermittent since the rear kit install. Wondering if the Sequoia master cylinder maybe isn't right for this combo? I can unplug the connector at the master cylinder and the light goes away. Plenty of fluid in the reservoir.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
I do and had a similar issue. Replace the master cylinder. Sensor is bad inside the reservoir.

Will be posting up shortly, but I have a brand new 1 ton master with the adapter plate and rod for sale from Trail Toys.

I also have an SOS rear disc conversion brackets without parking brake option and steel braided lines as well if anybody is interested.

I did the Sequoia MC and Tundra Brake Booster. I have SOS rear disc conversion with LX460 brakes all around. Incredible improvement in stopping performance. I have been running this setup for a little over three years now.

Yes - not sure if the stock 16" OR wheels will clear, if you are running them.

Can anyone confirm that this kit will work? I'd rather just buy a kit and not piece together one if possible. I'm being lazy and not wanting to read

I already have the T4R backing plates

Power Stop KC5873-36 Brake Kit with Caliper (Front Truck and Tow)

    It's listed as fitting a 2015 T4R

Those look like single piston calipers; why would you want to replace your 4-piston calipers with single piston units?

Maybe it's just a stock photo so they don't have to photograph every set(it's also a 5 lug rotor)? That part number comes back to a 2015 T4R so I'm not really sure.

Ok, so I got the first pic from Amazon, so maybe it's just a "stock" photo

This pic came from Rock Auto under a 2015 T4R

I want to give a shout out to everyone in this thread for all the information. Absolute THANK YOU! I've read the entirety of this thread through and through twice, and skimmed it more than that. I've been a lurker for years, and finally decided to join, possibly to help others along the way.

I've purchased all parts beforehand, and finally tackled the job couple days ago. All parts were OEM from either McGeorge or another Toyota dealer that shipped parts. Parts I ordered were the splash shields, rotors, calipers for both sides.

I also did the tundra master cylinder + brake booster as well, so quite a bit in one go.

I will echo what user @truckinducks posted, I have factory 17" rims and they fit without any scraping. My 17" rims are original to my 2015 TRD sport DCSB when I first bought the truck from the dealership. That was my biggest concern, not knowing if it'll work with factory rims and needing spacers. Photos below.

Photos of the calipers against the rim. There's about 1/2 - 3/4 inch of space.

Great upgrade and I'm loving the break pedal feel. Just need to break them in more to see how overall performance will look like in the long run.

Would this fit the 05 x-runner?

if you can find 5 lug rotors with similar fitment it could be possible.

The calipers won’t fit the knuckles either.

Has anybody opted for not just slotted, but cryo slotted
As recommended in the stock brake upgrade thread, but in this case bigger here due to 4runner parts

I tried finding the cryo PN. But it shows unavailable. I’ll look more.

    seems like a good idea
    1. Value, no significant cost added like there would be if you had a part cryo treated separately
    2. Its cryo. Supposedly = last longer, able to handle more heat

unless maybe the larger size makes cryo treatment not really necessary anymore. Especially if people report better braking and no issues.

unlike stock caliper upgrading where you’re trying to squeeze as much out of it as you can (including cryo)

or who knows maybe dropping off rotors at a cryo place isn’t that pricey…
