That sounds like a bad install to me, only because been in JLUR's with 35's and 37's and have never had that. But does suck to have for only 3 months. I will say that there is no in between with Jeeps you either love them of hate them. Hope she is happy with whatever she moved on too.

If you read the wrangler forums it’s a common issue, lifted or not. Took it back a couple times and they just say it’s normal characterization of the lift. I personally would stay away from anything Jeep. The dealers are horrible.

My boss has it on his F150, kind of annoying even riding in it. A couple times during each ride I catch myself asking, when are ya gonna go, the lights green..
I also think it's havoc for the longevity of certain parts.
My wife has a Prius, I'd take a hybrid any day over ESS. Who wants a dying vehicle in an offroad vehicle.
And no, I think I'll skip the Tacoma if it ever comes to that but I don't think it will bc it will probably be hybrid 1st..

Tacomas already drive like they have ESS, so it wouldn’t really make much difference LOL!

I hope you get your gremlins worked out. Not a very good first impression from the Tacoma.

Yeah, that’s the part that I don’t get: JK’s steering feel wasn’t the best; the underlying expectation was that JL’s would be an improvement, not worse. Jeep had 12 years to get JL right...and this is the best it can do?

People are dazzled by the Jeep name, the new shiny interior, the pretty navi screen, and are paying $40,000 to $60,000 for a vehicle that can’t drive straight for 2 feet, a cramped interior, loud wind noise, a top that continues to leak, and dealers that treat you like shit.

I owned eight Wranglers and I don’t get it.

they because because its the most offroad capable vehicle in mass production on the planet. They don't care that Jeep is owned by FCA which builds crap products. Look at the renagade... LOL.

First time Tacoma owner here as well.

You better sit down and hold on tight because you are bound to find a lot of disappointing gremlins with Tacoma.

I am still hoping that Tacoma’s turn out to be much less than Jeep’s overall.

    We shall see.

I was in JKU Wranglers for a decade. I got out of Jeeps and into the Tacomas because its so much more practical; it gets better mileage; its still more than capable off road; it tows almost twice as much, and its a lot more reliable. My vote stays with the Tacoma. I wouldn't personally go back to a Jeep unless it was a toy only.

Domestic car dealers in general are near the bottom of the list in terms of buying/service experience, quality, and honesty. I really don't understand why these companies don't just suck it up and try to emulate the Japanese. I honestly feel that the Japanese understand American car buyers more than American car companies do. They really seem to care about their products, stand behind them, and focus their efforts on retaining long term customers and not just 'gotta move these piles of shit off the lot as quickly as possible'.

Japanese companies hire Americans to run their North American markets. That is exactly why Mike Sweers was specifically hired.

Americans are loyal to American products so external companies must keep their game high in order to compete. Seriously why the heck does Chrysler and most of their cars exist. It's known that Chrysler makes some of the worst cars on the market yet people buy them...

Yeah but Japan still drives the company as a whole, has the vision, and sets the standards. Toyota of America tweaks the marketing and establishes the requirements of what American car buyers are looking for in terms of vehicles.

Think about it this way, in the hypothetical scenario where Toyota of America were poorly managed and sales were tanking, do you really think Toyota Japan would want to continue to allow their brand to flounder in the US? Their profitability is directly on the line.

Thats a lack of understanding of C Suite/Sr. Leader positions at global enterprises. I know what you are saying but it's entirely based on assumption.

I was at the dealer trying to locate some TC fluid and they had a used JL on the lot with like 4k miles. We went to look at it and the other used cars and I was appalled at the door handle. Just try wiggling it and see how much play is in it. For the price these shit boxes command, the door handle shouldn't feel like it is ready to fall off. I never bothered to get down and check the death welds... I checked out a base 2 door that had a 36K price tag as well.

That being said my Taco has been less than perfect and life is short. Do what you want.

You can still have a Toyota and it would be a ‘jeep’ too!

Rented a JK on our honeymoon in Kauai. It was pretty unimpressive in it's stock, base model form. It wasn't as fun to drive as they look, but we did enjoy the removable top.

The Gladiator is on my radar. The rear seat legroom and overall interior space seems to be improved over our Tacomas. The rear air vents are a nice upgrade. The price tag seems outrageous though, so I'll wait to see what the used market is like or see if they start offering incentives in the next year or two once the demand has dropped.

You seem to stick up for the wranglers pretty frequently. Are my concerns with reliability (Powertrain, leaks, drivability issues on the freeway) pretty spot on or is it similar to TacomaWorld where a few guys with gremlins/complaints make the most noise?
I’d rather keep my next vehicle at least 5+ years without anything major needing to be done to it. With the Toyota, it would be longer most likely but then again people get unlucky and buy the anomaly where everything goes wrong.

Get a Tacoma for every day & an old TJ for JEEP things.
Had 3 JEEPs, 2 TJs and 1 YJ. Each time was my primary vehicle, I always went back to a truck for practicality. One day will get another JEEP but not as my primary..
