Well I've got an 11:00 a.m. (MST) appt to service my Tacoma. The dealer also sells Fords. I talked to my friend and he's pulling out two F-150's for me to revisit.

I've talked to two local guys with Canyon diesels and they are getting over 30 mpg highway. They LOVE the rig. The price is a little steep though...

I apologize, I wasn't referring specifically to you, it more of a general comment about the forum in general. It seems there are a lot of people on here that are pretty defensive. The Tacoma is a great truck for a lot of people.

Picked up the truck. Everything I was told was correct. Incredible deal. Running 70-80mph from Dallas to Little Rock the Tacoma averaged 15.97mpg calculating manually. Will report what I get in the GMC. Dealership was great. In and out in one hour

Nice! Don't forget to put diesel in it,not gas, when you refuel.

As a matter of fact the dealer is letting me take the midnight colorado diesel home to test it side by side with the Taco.

I like your GMC better. They look better, IMO.

This Chevy has leather, Bose, lots of upgrades- pretty much GMC trim, less the dash and bezel appointments. Best they can do is $40,000 on this unit (being the midnight special and all). However they are offering $34,500 on a trade for my TRD OR with 14,000 miles. Not bad. This truck had about 15 miles on it when I drove away.

I promptly drove this truck 43 miles up the mountain (steep, steady climb) to Gates of the Mountains, turned around and came back home. Same thing I did when my truck was brand new. No weird shifting, steady torque pull- 75-80mph. I averaged 26 mpg on a brand spanking new motor! My truck did like less than 15mpg

Holy shit. This is what a truck should feel like.

Thanks. The mileage difference and driveability is truly remarkable. 137 miles into my trip home with the cruise set at 77mph, the computer is showing 25.6mpg. Will manually calculate it when I get home at midnight. I just hope the diesel is trouble free. Will probably buy the ext warranty soon
