So, I just got the Musology console lockbox delivered. Thought I would try it since the Toyota one has the combination/lock mech standing way too high and it wouldn't work with the Musology organizer I put in the top of the console.

Boy is this thing a piece of junk. It is not a full lockbox. Basically you get the top and 2 sides. The are held together by some small screws and then you use some cheap self-tapping screws to attach the sides to the inside of the console. Anyone with a large screwdriver could pry this thing out in under 2 min.

Guess it's time to build another lockbox. For those that have been around a while, you might recall I built one many years ago for my 2008. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/building-a-console-vault.22694/
Did the same thing for my 2012 and then for my 2015 Ram. Anyone found something that would actually hold up against a smash and grab?

Might be time to break out the welder, cutting wheel, and googles and get to it. Of course, if someone has a lead on a real lockbox that is actually secure I would love to save the time.
