Console Vault for 2016?

Was interested in this but I really like all the storage in the center console. I don't want to give it up. I don't have to. I will be getting one of these:

Ok so here goes the fit of a console vault in a 2016 TRD sport double cab.

First thing to do is remove two bolts (10mm) from inside center console. Then tilt the vault forward and fit it in. It takes some pressure to get it in. I really had to force or in order to make it go all the way down. It it's not flush the console lid won't properly latch.

Next, replace the bolts provided (longer than the ones that were removed). Make sure your seats are all the way back so they don't hit the center console and cause the holes to not align (I learned the hard way).

That's it. Took about 20 min total.

How much room is there in the actual vault? I've had these in full size trucks but worried in the Tacoma it won't fit a full size pistol

Just barely, but fits a Sig p229. Wish there was a bit more room but it works, and it's sturdy.

Ordered mine yesterday. Will be like my 4th.

One question they answered us to but would like confirmation: is there a cutout for the 12v charging port inside the armrest console? Thanks.

What is the depth? Would your pistol fit vertically? I am thinking one of these gun magnets might work well with that console vault. I was all set to order one of these for my truck, until I actually got the truck and saw how small the console was. I did not think the vault would be big enough for anything other than a derringer.
