I found this other site called "True Delta." They are calling out CR and are doing their own surveys. All cars need at least 25 people to start a survey, Tacoma is not on the list yet. Everyone join in!!

    http://www.truedelta.com/reliability.php

Click, "Enroll" on the top right.

^Yeah, I've been a member there since they started up when I had my Altima. They don't have enough current Taco members yet so I haven't been able to participate since I got the truck. They are the real deal and you get a monthly email asking for updates on service visits, mileage, etc. Definitely join up because it's worthwhile.

This a BAD thing? I was completely sold on the Tacoma long before I made it to the dealership and the only thing that could have been a deal breaker would have been a lack of headroom. (I've dealt with that before -- not worth the neck pain!) I sat in it, bought it, and removed the sun visor when I got it home.

As for the stiff ride, it's a truck. That's kind of the point. The Honda Ridgeline always get high marks from non-offroad associations because it's the most car-like of the trucks in the class.

I'm admittedly lazy and didn't read this entire thread. My apologies if I've repeated what's already been said but I wanted to vent to the masses. Feel free to kick the soapbox out from under me at any time. :p

My apologies that wasn't meant to sound hatin. But, fun and sarcastic. But I will try and find some proof. Other than my 15 years in the newspaper and magazine business. Yea, I know what generates revenue in a publication.
Didn't ya like the Consumer Elves bit. I was laughin and laughin. Well of to go search for a white whale I be. arrr

I'm still up in the air, they are definitely starting to piss me off though. I have a 3 year subscription now.

I got the January issue yesterday. It states the two top truck picks are the Ridgeline (shocker...metrosexualmobile) and the Tundra. ???

Now didn't they just trash the Tundra recently? Not in the magazine but online they made a press release that it was not recommended anymore because so few people said it was relaible (or the rating was low). Now this makes no sense again considering the truck made it to the top frickin 2!

My jury is still out but the verdict seems to be moving away from them.

Yea, Desert all around. But, indicating it's in the middle of nowhere is indicating that it's actually somewhere.

Why are Toyota cars bad? Don't let me get started on all the bad V6 Accord transmissions. Explain yourself.

Ah, I see. I would disagree about the new Camry V6, though. Lot's of fun, that.

We just picked up a new '07 Odyssey for my wife.EX-L,leather,dvd and all the fixin's.....very nice.Looked hard at the Sienna's but Toyota wasn't playing ball with the lease rates. The Honda dealer was much more motivated with the MSRP and had a much better rate.Would have been very happy with either but it came down to the better deal. Now as far as trucks go,it was very easy.....I wanted a Tacoma, plain and simple.

I must say, my dealership experience with Honda was far better than Toyota. I'll give that to Honda.

I had a frontier, they are piece of shit trucks. Consumer reports should not be trusted the last scandal that they were involved in should have killed their credibility.

Cash is king, Tacoma's have pretty bad ass resale value. In the end, if you take good care of your vehicle it will last a hella long time. Just enjoy the f**k out of what you got, but take care of the maintenance and she'll last a long time.

My truck is a "he". "She" vehicles are tempermental(sp?) and unpredictable and need TLC.

Uh-oh, I feel my rep dwindling already!
