Install was really easy. The plug under the dash was a bit hard to get too only because the space is small. I had to laugh when I looked at the connector. The side Toyota gives you to plug into your controller, all the wires on it are about twice the guage of the wires on the other side that are already part of the harness. LOL guess thats to help you feel good about its capabilities. I got mine from Etrailers and also got the premade wiring harness.
I mounted it in the space below the lighter outlet, aux outlet and 12v outlet. I pulled the cup holders and notched the back side of it, can not even see the notch. I ran the wires up through there and to the controller. If I want I can removed the controller and put the wires under the cup holder when not in use.
I know worthless with out pics. I didnt take any but if someone really wanted to see I can take some.

It's for heavier trailers if I'm not mistaken, so that you can brake a whole lot easier and safely.

^^^^ it controls the electronic brakes that larger trailers have so that your not just using the trucks brakes to slow the trailer down. it can also be used to control trailer sway at higher speeds too

I used the supplied slide in and out holder the controller came with. Originally I was going to use velcro but when the controller is not in the holder, like in the picture. It doesnt interfear with the cup holder so I used double sided 3M tape and one screw to hold the holder in place. Hope the pictures help. I didnt take one of the wire tucked away, I think you get the idea. Pics are big so you can see the details if you want. In second picture you can see the two notches.

This is perfect, I mounted my controller here as well and like how you notched out the cup holder for the wiring harness. I'll do this after work today!
