Her: Oooo... I really like the Tacoma. It has a cute little snout!

Me: Uh, baby, that's not a "snout." It's a hood scoop.

    Her: Oh. What's it for?

Me: Well, actually it's not for anything. It's a fake turbo intake. Toyota puts it on there because the 25 year-old American male demographic is stupid and thinks a fake hood scoop looks macho. But it doesn't actually do anything.

Her: Oh. Well, I think it's cute. It looks like a little snout!

Me: Well, baby, ok. But to get the snout -- dammit -- I mean, to get the hood scoop... you have to buy the TRD Sport package. That's about three grand. We can get you a nice 4x4 with the SR5 package for a lot less, and later we can upgrade to a Bilstein suspension if you really want.

Her: Do I need upgraded beer stein suspenders?

Me: No, baby, no. BILSTEIN. The SR5 doesn't come with the upgraded suspenders -- dammit -- I mean suspension. But the TRD Sport does.

Her: Does the 5RS have a snout?

Me: No, baby, it's called "SR5." And it doesn't have a snout -- dammit -- I mean hood scoop. To get that you have to pay for that TRD Sport package.

Her: Oh. But the snout is really cute! I want one with a snout.

Me: You realize that the snout -- dammit -- I mean hood scoop is just a marketing thing, right? It's a ploy Toyota uses to sell trucks to adolescent boys who think hood scoops look cool. And apparently to some women who think it looks "cute."

Her: It IS cute! I want one with a snout. Snout, snout, snout!

    :frusty:

DISCLAIMER: I neither own, nor drive, the green Tacoma with the snout -- dammit -- I mean hood scoop. I just pay for it.
