Convert grill and headlights from 2003 to 1996

Has anyone successfully converted the front grill and headlight assemblies from late first gen (say 2003) back to the early 1st gen (1996/97) style?

I'm just wondering if it would be a simple conversion and also if there would be more after-market upgrade options for the older rectangular headlights compared to the contoured assemblies in the later models.

Anyway here is the grill I was thinking about.

That would've worked out perfect considering the truck pictured^ the guy wanted to convert from his year to a 01-04 front end. He sold it though

I got the pic off Eric's site so I thought someone might recognize it.

 

Pretty sure the front fenders and hoods are all different between the 01-04 trucks and the 96-97, but if you had all the parts it should just be as simple as bolting everything up into place.

I myself have toyed with the idea of going to the 96-97 front clip. It has that classic Toyota pickup look to it that I like.
