Oh no I just followed this guide. I’m saying for a full coolant flush through a Toyota dealer that’s not a bad price.

I think timthetoolman has a vid on this somewhere..prolly a sticky. Change the hoses and flush all that shit out with distilled water until clear. Then fill with some of the good red stuff.

Thank-you all for guidance on the coolant system flush process.

Did find a thread on cool down: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/how-long-to-cool-down-before-draining-coolant.142804/

I just took my time, initial drain followed by three flushes, final fill with Toyota Red Long Life.

Had a Lisle funnel "kit", really simplifies the process.

Will never again fuss with the bleeder on the passenger side of the block.

    All good, thanks again.

I know this is years late, but for the benefit of future users' reference:

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to loosen the little bolt at the end of the drain. That's how to make the coolant flow down the tube. I don't know what that bolt above it is for, but it's not necessary to drain the block.

except they failed to make me aware that my top radiator hose or whatever was going bad, it developed a nice leak about 7k miles after the service rendered  and I was headed way out of town when i noticed it

My flatbed has 300K on it and had the original hose. When I did my flush on it last week I bought new hoses for the upper and lower radiator hoses. A dealer should've checked for that but I'm not surprised they didn't I guess. Every dealer is different.

all they told me when i went back to show them was that they did not remove the hoses, I found a bunch of buildup caked under it and just took me awhile to gently scrape off, hose was probably ok but i just had ordered a new one from Camelback so just put it on and continue to check for leaks

Can this be done if my A/c has gone out? My compressor blew out and was squealing so i took the belt off. I can still click the a/c on and heater obviously. Probably a dumb question but i figure doesn’t hurt to ask for those more knowledgable

Only need to move the temp slider to hot so the valve to the heater core is open. No need to turn the fan on. Turning on the AC will not do anything for this process.

Do you mean halfway between Hot and Cold or halfway between Cold and operating temp? I know this post is old, but thanks anyway if you’re still around
