I've got a few pictures below of a coolant leak the dealership pointed out today during an oil change. Not sure how long it's been leaking. They want around $700 just to get to it and then see what needs to be fixed.

Does this look familiar to anyone? If so, any ideas/worth my time to go after it myself. This view is from passenger side looking up towards the back of the engine. Can't see anything from the top. Looked for any leaks while it was running but whatever it is.. is all happening on the back of the motor.

I can work to get a video on here to try and give a better idea of it's location.
    It's got 102K miles.

Does it fit the notorious plastic cross-over pipe failure? They're at the rear correct?

It is said that the crossover pipe can be replaced if you pull the intake plenum. That would be what I would try.

This tends to be be a very slow weep, so you have time to plan it out.

    I wouldn't pay $700 for it.

For $700 I'd be inclined to take a crack at myself before paying the dealer. What's the part cost $5?

Hold your breath, and this is from a local place that is really competitive with other places online:

I have seen cross over pipes on several manufacturers look exactly like this. Def. seen some on Tacomas when I worked at the dealer.

I think @Jowett noted that the Lexus AL one had interference with that turned union?

    100%.

There's some superseded part numbers shown there and 2018+ folks don't seem to have this issue. Maybe that current part takes care of the flaw?

They know what it is. I wouldn’t give them the business just for not knowing.

Is this a warranty issue? I don’t think we know your year and mileage.

Title say '17 Off Road, so depending on month it was bought, I'd say out of warranty.

Is your coolant bottle empty? Have you been adding some over time? Easy fix though, remove intake and remove bypass.
