Sorry if this has already been discussed, but have not found it yet. I have 2018 Tacoma 3.5L with 37,000 miles. And noticed that my coolant reservoir tank is just about empty. Am getting coolant soon to add and monitor. Engine oil samples test great.

Long short... Has anyone else had issues like this? It just worries me because this leads me to think head gasket

First off calm down because you don't know whats wrong yet.
    1. Do you park in the same spot either at home or work? If so, have you noticed any fluids where you park?
    2. How many times have you looked at the level since you had the truck?
    3. Who has serviced the truck?

For now, you need to do like you said, fill her up and monitor. It could be a simple hose leak. Dont worry just yet.

Coolant has water in it. It goes through a bajillion heat cycles. Water evaporates. I would expect to have to top off the cooling system at 37,000 miles and wouldn’t think twice about it.

There's a plastic crossover tube behind the engine by the firewall that has been known to leak.

I service it. Park in same spot. I've been watching it since new. Every 500 miles or less pop hood and check it all out. Just noticed it starting to go down in coolant maybe 2,000 miles ago. I'll look at the tube skydvrr mentioned. Thank you everyone.

Fwiw mine varies a lot. Sometimes when I shut it off, it's low. Sometimes it's normal :notsure:

Yeah I agree, same here. There is the paint mark, where they marked it at the factory or dealer for level on tank. But now she is just about empty. Thought I'd ask the wise people on this forum if they had any tips. Or at the very least. Remind people to check things out and things of that nature

Noticed the same this on my 17, oddly enough with similar miles too.
Checked that prone-failure-plastic-tube near firewall and it was all good. Everything else is dry everywhere. Oil is clean too.
To be fair, mine was at minimum mark when i noticed. Ended up adding some coolant and calling it a day.
Chalking it up to evaporation as I saw some white chalky residue in the overflow area.

Is this plastic tube/fitting visible without removing any covers, etc....? Can anyone steer me towards identifying this part? I have been monitoring and refilling for some time but have not seen anywhere that it might be leaking.

I had some boil over driving through death valley. Evident by dried coolant on the tank though

It's on the back of the engine against the firewall.
