That is a tough claim, esp with torque limiting ECU controls. The mod may yield MPG and cooling benes, but more power might not be shown.

here is the clutch fan dyno test results they did. remember the motor doesnt matter bs its just being used to spin the fan thru an rpm sweep. there might be slight variation due to blade pitch, fluid viscosity and diameter but over all a good base line to show how much power these rob

Did that motor use a modern-style mechanical fan clutch? Or was the fan just bolted to the water pump like most cars from the ‘60s were?

I think the Toyota engineers know the truck better than you . Another “performance “ item ... so u say will do some magical thing to give u more power and torque. Only thing this item will do is Put more money in your pocket .

If it's getting to 225-230 often the trans fluid is toast.

I don't give a shit what adjectives LCE uses, I'll buy damn near anything they sell! Every product has been top notch for my experiences with them, customer service too.

I can't say I've ever run into any cooling issues, but I'm definitely curious to see how it affects power and MPG!

Agreed. My 1998 Mustang had an electric fan and I had no cooling issues related to the fan. My 2008 Canyon had a clutch fan still though. It seems to me the electric ones are just as good, if not better because you don't lose as much power and you don't have to remove it just to get to a water pump or pulleys if you don't want to.

The master cooling relay in my 2002 Malibu died and got hot quick. At least it was December and not August.
Now a fan belt can brake or a fan clutch fail but they are easy to diagnose compared to an electric system on the side of the
    road.
Not saying one is better than the other both systems have strength and weaknesses.

the fan they use is a base electric fan and requires new overflow and shroud. that fan has less then 10% of the validation requirements and tech the one im use does. not only does this one have 2 times the flow, it has a soft start feature, variable speed control, so that it runs at 40% capacity at YOUR desired temp with a ramp up to 100% at YOUR desired temperature. just saying im looking at a more oem vetted solution rather then just a on off electric fan

Favor to ask any 2nd gen tacoma guys who are interested. i think the coolant system stayed the same from 2nd to 3rd but i need to confirm the fan hole opening diameter is the same. i dont have any 2nd gens around right now
