when you turn the knob thing that turn the lights on and off, one click turns on the corners and brake lights, then the next is normal headlights

The cornering lights are just front marker lights. No turn signals in them. They should turn on with the parking lights and will stay on with the headlights.

If the bulb itself is just burnt out, just take it with you to any auto parts and tell them you want one of these that works. They'll get ya set up. I'm pretty sure its a 194, but take the old one just in case.

More than likely the wires in the connectors are corroded though. They really aren't the best design, as they aren't sealed and will retain water pretty good. I recently just replaced my passenger side one that the wires actually fell apart with only a slight tug. It was the wiring harness side and not the cornering light side for me. Auto parts stores (Napa and Checker) didn't carry a replacement, so I ended up having to buy it from the dealer. I was going to go check junk yards, but decided that if mine was corroded, all the others would probably be about the same state as well.

I want to say it was around $30-$40 for the connector and some special wires that lock into it.

If that is what the problem is, you'll have to cut out the old connector and take it with you, as there's some numbers on it that's near impossible to see. Dont cut it too short so you dont know which wires will match up when you get a replacement. You'll have to do some wire connecting to install it (I soldered and used shrink tube).

I know this is an older thread, but figured it was a good place to ask.

I just realized that both my front corner lights are out in my 05 Prerunner.

They definitely used to work, and I'm not exactly sure when they would have gone out.

I installed a stereo deck a month ago, and everything went fine, and they kept working after that. I just had a shop install the speakers/amp/sub, etc., so I know they went in behind the deck. Is there ANYTHING back there that could affect the corner lights?

Also, both lights have gone out, at the same time. The wires look good, and I can't imagine the bulbs burning out at the same moment.

I can't find a fuse for them specifically, so I pulled every fuse in the box, and they all look good.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I really want to avoid paying the dealership to figure this out. I'm fairly mechanically inclined, so I figure I can do it myself.

Turn on your parking lights and take a test light to the plug.. If you got voltage it's the bulb..

Which plug? Do you mean the little connector somewhere? (I'm assuming there is one, I haven't looked for it).

I read that the fuse for those lights is the same as the tail light fuse, so I'll specifically check that one tomorrow. One thing I did notice is that one of my license plate lights is out. But I'm assuming it's just the bulb.
