Quick report on local health care - All of this shit going on and I come down with an ear infection. WTF! I don't want to go anywhere near the insta-care in the hospital near my home, but I also don't want to have it get worse. I called ahead to see what I should do and they said its not very busy come on in.

When I got there the place was deserted. They made me sanitize my hands before entering the hospital and there was only one other person there waiting to see a doctor. The doctor said things were abnormally quite for a Saturday afternoon. Apparently people are getting the message and socially isolating themselves. The pharmacy seemed normally busy for a Saturday, and I did my best to get in and out without touching anything. Thank heavens CVS makes you sign for your drugs using their point of sale machine THAT EVERY ONE ELSE HAS TOO TOUCH TOO. But, I did get some of their scratchy toilet/receipt paper if it comes to that.

 

Did you see the mass grave excavations in Iran seen from space yesterday? I can only hope that those are more fundamentalists and not the decent, intelligent, generous, loving Iranians, or let's say Persians, like my favorite high school teacher, are not among them.

Not like the virus would give a fuck about your politics. But perhaps the ignorant and vicious ones will be more susceptible.

I seem to remember we are about 7-10 days behind Italy on the curve. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

Something like 50% of the ICU cases in France are younger people, all cafes etc are now shut down. A Seattle hospital is forecasting Italy-like numbers. When I’m sober I’ll link these reports.

 

Leadership was late to the game. This is geometric. Many carriers are asymptomatic. And you don't know until it's fully baked and the timer goes off.

That not how any of this works. The fact that you haven't had the flu is probably more to herd immunity and luck. The only way to build "natural" immunity is to get the vaccine or the disease.

I'm at a complete loss why people don't get vaccinated for preventable diseases. Imagine getting the flu and Corona at the same time. No don't, it's just too sad to think about.
