Thought I would ask "actual" users for some input. About two months ago, I picked up a '07 tacoma from a co-worker. 2 days ago, I mounted a snugtop "superport" on it. Yesterday when I went out to the truck, I noticed a crack on the side composite bed on the drivers side rear. The crack looks to be "stress point" where ther bed rails attach to composite bed. of the three mounting points for the snugtop, the rear ones just happen to be above a rivet holding the rail to the side of the bed..

Any ideas? Will be taking it in today or tomrrow, and have the service department look at it.. The guy on the phone said it may not be a warranty item, and I was like, "why not".. anyway, they may be very cool, or give me the runaround.. In any case, if they do not replace it, I need to patch it in such a way that it will not crack more..

It kind of sounds like when you mounted the snugtop that you might have tightened something too much and it pulled on the rails cracking the bed...probably not covered under warranty...PICS?

Possible, but I have cranked Kayak's down harder than when I mounted the snugtop.. Probably has something to do with the attchment point (for the side rail) being right there as well. The others are off to the side of the rivet. Will see what toyota has to say.. will post pictures later today..

Q: If they don't fix it, how can I reinforce it?

if they are just like C type clamps liek that are on my dads truck you could use a couple peice of 1/8 flat stock cut into like 6 inch lengths to put the weight onto a larger section of bed.
