I got a rock chip in my first month too, roads were nasty and an idiot in a Subaru cut over right in front of me in the right lane, threw up rocks, and exited the road. There was nobody behind me, if he only would've waited just a few more seconds

Quote to get the chip fixed from safelite was over 100 bucks, I suppose I should just bite the bullet..l to add insult to injury that day I got a 285 dollar speeding ticket. Bad luck that day!

No BRO-ness to speak of... Well, except Kbro2's
Have had mine since early Feb. It's been hammered by rocks at least six times. So loud inside the cab that i was just sure it would be done for.... Not one crack so far!!

Similar situation in my 2012 except horizontally. I noticed the crack get slightly bigger each time when entering/exiting lots until it went from one side to the other.
Apparently the 3rd gen frame is stiffer under torsion so hopefully that equates to less horizontal/vertical cracks.... :fingerscrossed:

I got my first rock chip a few days ago from a truck that wasn't even in the same lane I was in. Not sure how I am supposed to fix that by changing my following distance. I suspect that the driving conditions and vehicle density on the roads in places like Houston is a bit different than Cheyenne, WY.

I drive 95% highway miles. I've had dozens of rocks slam in to my windshield but the one that caused a star made the most faintest of sounds. I watched the chip turn in to a star before my eyes. I immediately went to a windshield place to have them fill it with acrylic or whatever they use to repair it. This happened at 5k miles. I am now at 10k and it hasn't spread at all and is barely noticeable. So I suggest not dragging your feet in getting your cracks repaired.
