Safe lite didn't show up with a gopro mount for me. Safelite or Cheaplite ?
    Better ask before hand.

I filed my claim online, and they gave me two options ... with or without GoPro mount.

Had to replace my windshield only a couple of months after I bought the truck...came with the gopro mount (via safelite) but not the gopro decal like the original. The biggest noticeable difference for me was the tint strip (or lack thereof) on the aftermarket windshield. Might have to end up ponying up a few bucks to get one added.

Thankfully, glass is fully covered with $0 deductible in SC.

Safe lite came out to inspect the windshield, the guy looked at it and agreed it wasn’t right. He pulled out the one he brought (another FUYAO) and noticed it was bent weird at the top too. He thinks it’s a bad batch says it happens a lot. So he ordered a pilkington oem one and it should be in stock in a few days. I must say I am impressed with the safe lite customer service. They really make an effort to make sure you are 100% happy. We will see how the new one fits.

Question. Is there a windshield that darkens in daylight and lightens when it gets dark? Like the transitions glasses? If there is not one out there, I think this would be a GREAT idea. Thoughts?

Watch the “American Factory” documentary on Netflix and you will find out why Fuyao is terrible.

Find a local windshield replacement guy. They'll throw a used one on there for you for about $100 bucks

i had this idea 25 years ago in high school. They never came out with it because it is illegal to tint a windshield. Stupid law, but the case in all 50 states.

Don't know about a tacoma, but had my prius windshield replaced yesterday for $245 by plymouth glass. Some redneck with a full size raised 4wd truck, and no mud flaps passed my wife, and then pulled in right in front of her throwing stones. Her windshield caught one about the size of a silver dollar before she could get out of the way far enough.

Agreed. I have my windshield tinted from the inside at 50%. Its barely noticeable. Living in SolCA, tinting should be allowed no matter what. law enforcement, fire, and other government agencies do it on their vehicles.

If you're in the Austin area give Low Price Auto Glass a call. They did my windshield in 2019 for ~$400. Its a Fuyao but I havent had any issues with it.

Wow, starting to feel like I got a deal. Granted I had to take it back right after I left because there was lots of wind noise and air coming through the replacement. Lol. All good now though.

$303 out the door. Discount Auto Glass in Wichita.
