Does anyone have a problem with the center console USB port charging their phone? Mine charges for 20 sec, then stops for about 2 sec, then starts again for 20 sec... It is super annoying at night to have my phone screen light up constantly. I've looked around but haven't seen any threads about this.

HU can only provide small amps the that USB socket, it’s designed for playing not charging modern phones. If you want to charge, replace the cig lighter with USB ports, if you want to charge and play, you can snip the power wires and run your own charger, or add up a few cables for a “plug n play” solution.

edit think it’s limited to 500ma, so only enough to trickle charge older phones, or phones that can charge on original USB spec.

Check your phones charging port also. Mine collects pocket dust like nobody’s business. I have to set the plug in at a certain angle for it to begin charging and the vibrations while driving mess with it.

I haven't had an issue with either the center console or head unit USB ports on my 3rd gen.

Yes, agreed its not for charging: My I-phone was like 6% the other day and i plugged it into that port. It died shortly after that. Took same charging cable and connected to plug in dash. Starts charging.

No issue at all charging up the phone with either USB port in the center console cubby. The one in the dash below the radio is for music from a USB flash drive or the like.

Media port (under head unit) charged my phone (Samsung Note 10) from 6% to 85% in just under 1.5 hours.

Haven't tried the center console plugs yet.

Are you talking the one in the dash or the one in the armrest? My ipod is always in the dash usb, so I don't know about that one. The armrest charges my phone just fine. I also swapped the cigarette lighter spot for a double USB for charging and it works great.

No issues with either ports with my OnePlus 7 pro or the work issues iphone 7.
Sure it's not warp charge and it goes off with the ignition switch but both work. You might have a bad cable. The contracts on my iphone cable were a bit dirty and it would not charge a few weeks ago. An Alcohol wipe fixed it.
