well, I see your point. However, I am one of those old guys with OCD with my vehicles, including my truck. And when I am dead and my kids have my hand-me-down truck they will be surrounded by people commenting on how perfect it is for a 50 year old truck! :broccoli:

My dad had a 1950 Ford F1. He had restored it, but it was still in impeccable condition for as old as it was. Even still, it's what we used to make runs to the dump, etc... I used it like a truck.

I'm going to be buried with my truck, so I don't have to worry about my kids fighting over it, lol.

The more pristine vehicle is, the bigger pain is when you notice a damage. I remember my feeling when some a-hole dented a bumper in my brand new Mazda 5 and run away. I felt sick the whole day.

On the other hand when my wife checked who is tougher: garage door frame or tail gate of just new to me 4Runner that we bought used just a month before (she tried to back up with tail gate open), I just said: 4Runner won, garage door frame lost - no pain, just a lot of laugh:

    Door frame:

    Scratched 4Runner tail gate:

All the sensors in the world won't help when we are surrounded by a-holes who hit and run our cars when parked. Maybe a dash cam set in park mode would record the offender.

    jeez. there’s the problem.
going slower than the posted speed can be considered impeding traffic.
going to kill someone out there.

Plus it’s like someone who says they’re doing 10 over the limit when they’re doing 20+.
You know he’s really going 10+ below the recommended limit. To be “safe”.
    Really scary.

What’s really scary is how much you care about how someone else is trying their best to drive safely. Kinda obviously outing yourself as one of those road ragers that has to go faster than everyone else

A few additions to make me feel cool.
I did something a little worse to this truck back in the late 90's. I told my dad I was at the mall with my girlfriend and when I came out someone had hit my truck. I was sick about it because it bent the bumper up and caved in the bed a little. My dad felt bad for me and paid to have it fixed for my birthday that year. Last year sometime my dad was telling someone the story of the time someone "hit my truck at the mall" and I started laughing and said sorry to tell you dad but you know I actually backed into a coke truck in the parking lot at the GoCo station when i was getting lunch. I guess I never got around to clearing that up. My dad just shook his head and started the story over and it began with. Well when Jay was a dipshit kid he lied to me and and I fixed his truck. Poor dad...
