I recall at least in the S models the Hippa setup they have is an add on and not in the standard setup. That could be why you do not see it. I do not have it in ours either.

This car cannot catch a break. I was just backed into in a parking lot fender bender despite laying on the horn. Dashcam saved the footage with the honk so I can relive the horror over and over again.

    IMG_1454.jpg

Chipped and scuffed paint is all that’s visible. Sensors still seem to operate as expected.

I’ll be looking for body shops today, and throw in the dented hood repair from the golfball sized rock that occurred recently as well.

Late to the party, but it's nice to find an EV thread that hasn't been trashed by trolls. (or maybe it has, I didn't read all 20 pages lol) I got rear "bumped" in my Model Y. I was so surprised I forgot to save the footage before it was too late.

It happened. I left the house on foot and closed the garage behind me. Upon returning, the MyQ phone app was unable to open the door. I had an internet service outage, rendering MyQ useless. Using the Tesla app I was able to instruct the car inside the garage to open the garage door via HomeLink. And just like that the car let me into the house from inside despite the internet service outage. I happened to have my keys on me, unlike most days because who carries those now, but it was neat to validate this scenario. One of the things I still need to investigate is the Tesla phone app appears to only control one door, where I have 2 in the car. I’d prefer to have access to both for redundancy, as each door also has battery backup.

Id suggest enabling the horn honk to save dashcam footage if you haven’t already and also add the dashcam app to the main screen lower dock so you can single tap to save. Trying to figure out/remember to save the dashcam footage in the moment when an accident has happened is not intuitive and easy to miss in the moment. In my case I laid on the horn to warn the other driver not to hit me automagically activating the recording saving before the impact occurred.

I heckle a little bit. But it’s hard to make fun of Crash, especially after the Gladiator episode.

I had meh luck with MyQ and the Tesla. One time in 10 it just wouldn't work for what ever reason. I never trusted it enough to remove the remote. Once the free trial expired I quit using it.

My bump happened at a stop light in rush hour traffic, so I didn't see it coming. Even if I had seen it I was boxed in on all sides. I motioned for the driver to follow me to a nearby parking lot, but to no ones surprise they just drove away. By the time I remembered to honk the horn the footage was gone. You have to get the light just right to see the scuff on the bumper, but scuffs seem to be the price you pay to drive in the city.

Leaning toward these TSportsLine wheels instead of the Tesla Stilettos, they are 1lb lighter than the Stilettos and nearly 6lbs lighter than the Uberturbines. They are modeled after the Model S Plaid Arachnid wheels. My current 19" EV01 wheels are 26lbs and the tires are 27lbs. These 20” wheels are 27.7lbs with 23lb tires, making the setup 2.3lbs lighter than my current 19s.

    Wheels:
    https://tsportline.com/collections/...ucts/tss-tesla-model-3-20-inch-wheel-set-of-4

These are also a 20x8.5 vs 20x9 Uberturbines so the tire isn't as stretched on the mount, which that stretch helps contribute to the high flat rate on the Uberturbines. I'd sell off both my EV01s and the stock Uberturbines, and go all in for lighter and faster.

Agreed for car use, I posted thoughts on the system and trial earlier in the thread. I instead pulled the trigger for the HomeLink module addition to the Tesla. I do however use MyQ daily from my phone for leaving the house on foot, it works much better than the car and it is free. However, it has system limitations that direct P-to-P communication HomeLink is not limited by.

3.5 lbs/wheel is an appreciable amount for mileage and handling performance. The black looks better than the silver.
I don't like going lower than a 45 aspect tire for whatever the road may hit you with, I don't like repairing or replacing wheels. Plus I like a smoother ride.

    I like those, a lot.

My Model Y just turned over 35K and I think the original tires will be done at 40K. I use my car for road tripping so ride is more important than handling and I'm toying with the idea of going with 18" wheels. (Also I've curbed the crap out of my 19's :anonymous:)

I’m still impressed with our set of TST’s for the summer wheels. TSportline was easy to deal with. Wheels shipped quickly and were packaged really well.

Just pulled the trigger on those T-SportLine wheels in 19x8.5 +35. They come in at 23.7lbs, being 4lbs lighter than the 20" version, and 8.3lbs lighter than the Uberturbines. Pirelli just released their P Zero Elect (M3P OEM Max Performance Summer tire) in a new 235/40R19 size coming in at 24lbs, which I plan to run. That would bring the combined setup to weight less than the OEM 18" wheel and tire combo found on the M3 Long Range, before factoring the additional rotational weight savings with the upgraded rotors and lugs.

While initially looking at the 20s, the 19s have additional weight savings and offer better durability with improved ride, while still looking sporty. The 19" P Zeros are also quite a bit less expensive compared to the OEM 20" size which is nice. T-SportsLine was offering free OEM bluetooth TPS sensors and $300 off the wheel sets for Fathers Day. I went with Space Grey, TBD on how it looks. I dislike black wheels. I'd really like them to be the same color as the Uberturbines and not too light, so it may be another trip to the powder-coater.
